Can we take spray sunblocks on plane?

I check the TSA website and I thought that I read no aerosols allowed. I already bought the sunblock and I have just read a few posts about people using it. Did you take on plane and if so, where? In carry on or checked luggage?

I never thought anything about it and took 3 cans of it on the plane in my carryon. This was about 2 weeks ago. Nothing was said either direction. I plan on doing the same thing leaving Sunday for Vegas.

Nancy :woohoo:

We also packed 3 in our carry-on, and had no problems whatsoever:)

:sunny: We just got back and I took them on the plane. On the way down I carried them in my carryon and coming home, I put them in a checked bag. I always put the sunscreens in a soft insulated bag so that if they choose to pop or whatever the damage will be contained. The bag comes in handy for the pool while there! On this trip the bag went into the park with sunscreen during the day and bugspray in the evening, along with water and ponchos. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I just buy it in the "pump" type bottle. Does the same thing, is not an aerosol and I never have to think about it. It's in my carry-on. No problems.

I have done both. I do know of someone who had it taken away from them because it was aerosol. They were also in Jamaica when it was taken away.

Do you guys know that the reason they don't want you bringing aerosol on the plane is not for them... it is for you. Aerosol cans have the potential to literally explode under the kind of pressure from being that high up.

But, now that this post is here, I'm wondering what I should do... I wanted to try the aerosol stuff too. :goodvibes

This is taken directly from the TSA website:

"Aerosol insecticides - You cannot bring any hazardous aerosols, such as insecticides, in either your carry-on or checked luggage.
Personal items like hair sprays and deodorants in limited quantities are allowed."

hi. I dont think you could bring it on the plane. If I am not mistaken they will see it in the bag and take it away from you for saftey reasons (you can use it by spraying people in the eyes). You can always spray yourself in the bathroom of the airport before you board and then pack it. :sunny:

As far as exploding on the plane at high altitudes, my SIL's friend had her shampoo explode twice on different plane flights to WDW. That's not even an aerosol.
