This year, I have the option of going to New Orleans or Boston ... Hard choice..... Haven't been to either before.
First thought was .. Go to New Orleans - then spend a week at WDW.
But then, I realises that Boston is near New York ..... Oooh! I can see the Statue of Liberty ...and then there's the Broadway shows
Hmmmm.....
And,,, looking at the map - Boston is close to Niagara Falls (well - closer than Melbourne is)
Boston it is!
So... QANTAS has a sale
The flights I'm looking at enter and leave USA via LA
Oooh!! Can we squeeze Disneyland in?

DH's boss approves DH's leave application - it's a goer!

The plan is -
arrive Sat night in New York
Leave NY Wed afternoon for Boston
Leave Boston Mon afternoon for LA
Stay overnight LA (airport area)
Fly 1st thing Tues morning to Las Vegas
Leave Vegas 1st thing Fri morning for LA (straight to Disneyland)
Fly home (almost) midnight Sunday

Let's see what I can pack into those days....
After all - it's a long flight home - we can sleep on the plane :)

No direct flights from Boston to Vegas?
Pity you couldn't hub somewhere other than LA.

Enjoy. Seems like great plans.

Qantas wouldn't do the whole trip on one ticket
Most economical was melb ->NY; Boston->LA; LA->melb
Train from NY - Boston
separate flight LA <-> Vegas

Ah. Pity there was no open jaw allowed with that Qantas ticket. Might have been fun to hub out of Chicago or Denver to head to Vegas.

:cool1: sounds like an awesome trip I love New York I keep saying if they would just move DL there I'd have no need to go anywhere else ;)

Fairy floss did you just book a trip today to leave in a few weeks? Or have I read that wrong:confused3 if you did I'm in awe that you can do that :)

Oh no!
I plan for months - just managed to gather my thoughts sufficiently to tell everyone
My brain is a bit like a salad spinner - if I let you in too early in the planning process you'll get caught up in all the confusion

I suppose I should introduce myself

I work with kids and have never grown up
Once my kids grew up and the school fees stopped, I discovered travel - I need to have a holiday to plan
DH is my travelling companion - together, we do/see so much!

I'm so excited to be squeezing in a Disneyland visit - it will be the 4th Castle we've visited
The first one we went to was in Hong Kong
Just a day visit - and looking back, how little I knew!
I didn't even know about fast passes
Still, we had a great day

Waited over an hour in the blazing sun for a Dumbo ride

Loved the teacups

And even had some Mickey food

The next year, we needed to be in London to support our friend who was competing (and won Bronze) in the London Paralympics
I didn't need an excuse to hop on a train to Paris.

We had a 'Ratatouille' theme to this visit
We visited the sewers

And found THE shop from the movie

We took a day off from Paris to visit Disneyland
This time, we started to get a grip on the fast pass system - and I refused to queue more than 30 minutes for a ride
Not speaking the language did take away a little of the pixie dust for me though

Loved BTRR - it starts on one side of the water and goes under the water to this island

Last year, we spent 10 days @ WDW
Oh my goodness! What a wonderful place that was!
By this time, I was smart enough to have discovered the DIS
The wonderful Melbourne ladies taught me about ADRs and rope drop & getting rides in early in the day
I mastered the FP system (as it was) and we had a fabulous time
I could have happily returned this year

Between your trip to DLR and TDL this year, you'll be queen of the 5 castles. That'll only leave Shanghai.....for when it opens. :thumbsup2

Great pics of the other 3.

Oh yeah! I can't wait to hear what you think of both DLR and TDL :thumbsup2 Meanwhile, I seem to be stuck on 3 castles :rotfl:

Exciting plans! I'd love to hear about your Boston experience, I'll be there six months after you :) keep NOLA on your list for next time, as well as the wider Louisiana, it's such a beautiful area.

And, I saw on another thread your mention of a TDL trip as well?? What a year!
