We, DS16 and I, are flying out on a Saturday at 3:00 on SW. We are staying at Pop and will use ME to get to the airport. I was hoping to go to a park that morning. MGM has early opening and we love TOT and RNR. What a way to end our trip. I figure we have to be back at the hotel by 12:00 to give us time to retrieve our bags from bellservice and get ready for the ME. Will it be worth it? How much you think we would be able to do at MGM from 8:00 until 11:30?

You will get to see a couple of attractions but is it worth it? Only you can decide that. Its a lot of money for about 3 hours. I think I would opt for a nice breakfast somewhere, do some last minute shopping at DT Disney, and leave without being so rushed.

We do it every trip . we normally fly a bit later with SW (around the 6 to 8pm mark) but always get that EMH park in the day we leave.

You should be able to hit both those rides 2times and sothing else to boot if you want. .

I would leave around 11:00 that will give you 20 extra minutes so if you miss the bus as you come up.Bellservices ask of 15 min and the ME ask you be there 15 min ahead of time.

We have AP now so expense in nothing but we did this when we just came down for the week and going from a 7 to a 8 day Hopper is just a few more $$$.

With a 3:00 p.m. flight departure, your scheduled DME pickup will be at a specific time between 11:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. (DME picks up every 30 minutes, but not necessarily on the hour and half hour).

You'll need to allow time to take the bus back from D-MGM, recognizing that you may need to wait 20 minutes for a bus (possibly longer). You'll have to allow time to retrieve your bags (you can't use Resort Airline Check-in with Southwest). Finally , you should be at the pickup location at Pop about 15 minutes before your departure.

Clearly, you won't be able to stay at D-MGM until 11:30 a.m.

You won't have much time at D-MGM, but if you're early risers and you're all packed the night before, you could still have enough time to have fun at D-MGM.

We just did this on this past Monday. We were at the opening which was 9 am. My DD and DN rode TOT 4 times and RNR 3 times. My cousin and I went on TGMR, Backlot and One Man's Dream. We all met up and watched Indiana Jones. We left the park at 12:15, it is the closest park to POP and only takes about 10 minutes on the bus. Our DME bus picked us up at 1:45 but we still did alot in 3 1/4 hours. We also flew Southwest so we had to pick up our bags. The girls even had time to write goodbye with the chalk.

Sure you can do it. Just be sure to plan on being back at POP by 11:00. You will need that time to retreive your bags and get settled in. It can sometimes take 30 mins or so for them to find your bags. Better safe than sorry when it comes to getting to DME on time. Leave MGM about 10:15 or so.

I totally agree. I'd even say live dangerously and and leave MGM at 10:30 instead of 10:15.

I think it's definitely worth it. I'd spend an hour or two just to ride Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror once each and leave. Definitely worth it for me. I can eat breakfast every day, but I can't run late for a concert or plummet in an old hotel every day.

I'm assuming you're already buying park tickets of at least 4 or 5 days, which would mean the cost of an extra day's admission would be only $2 or $3 or so.
