Yikes. The dog I took in this week evidently got stressed out about being left in our bedroom because she ripped up a big patch of berber in our bedroom.

DH is very very unhappy. It was my idea to bring her in and the carpet isn't even 2 years old. We had hoped to replace it with hardwood but that wasn't planned in the budget so soon.

You can't patch berber, can you? HELP! I'm in big trouble! He hasn't seen it yet but I did tell him (felt he needed warning...). I hope to have solutions worked out before he gets home.

Yikes.

Our new dog did it to our new house that was less than 3 months old! :headache: You can patch the berber, I would just get a professional to do it. Make sure that you match the carpet exactly and cut the piece that is messed up and replace with the new peice.

The builder was nice enough to patch ours for us and you can't even tell where the rips were.

HTH

If you can't patch it right away (I agree that it can be done without being noticable).....but you could rearrange furniture for a temporary fix for now...what we do for our animals!;)

Oh YEAH!! You've given me hope. I will call some carpet people tomorrow about getting it fixed. It's gotta be cheaper than ripping it all up and putting in hardwoods!

Yes, Berber can be patched. We had a big ember pop out of the fireplace, when our Berber was less than 1 month old.

The place that installed the carpeting did the repair, cost all of $50. More for the travel time, than the time to do the work. I was thrilled at the work they did. I can't tell where the patch-job is.

depending on how big the spot is you might be able to fix it yourself. I have cats that destoyed our living room carpets and I got very good at fixing it, so hubby wouldnt know  .. if can you post a pix, I should be able to tell you how to fix it! all it takes it sissors, tweezersand patience! oops and glue :) hot glue works best
