Can we really justify it?

Over the years our holidays have been 90% disney, we have stayed at a variety of disney hotel but we are saving to buy our new house and so a budget is now the forefront of our holiday decisions! Pricing up for 2015 seems to be crazy expensive with a moderate creeping up to £4k for two at Coronado and over £5k for the beach club

We haven't gone on many other holidays other than disney so not sure how these prices compare to other holidays but is £2k + per person seems maybe a step too far! I mean what will be like in 5 years time?

But we do love it so it's making this harder

Have you considered staying offsite? We find even after food and transport, it's half the cost of the on site equivalent. 14 nights Orlando flights and 3* hotel for 2 adults runs us under £1800, and that's in the school holidays.

What about a non-Disney Orlando holiday? Universal, Sea World etc all great and cheaper than Disney.

We have stayed off site before and haven't done it since, it's not that we didn't have a good time it was just difficult to and from the parks. We found we spent a lot of time getting back and forth. I think we enjoy being in the disney bubble and being looked after

We may have to bite the bullet and give it another go!

Personally I'd rather go more often and "compromise" on a few areas. Offsite suits us much more as there's greater food and drink options at significantly cheaper prices and greater choice of accommodation at significantly cheaper prices than Disney. I have always said that I would never pay more than £100 per person per day all inclusive but it's pushing that these days...

Have you thought of renting points to stay in a villa? We payed about the cost of a moderate to stay in a villa. We rented from DVC Rental Store and had a great experience. This site has a section where you can rent points directly from owners for less than the $14 we paid.

Gosh, we went as a family of five last October, I booked flights and Disney package separately to save money. This year my eldest isn't coming and I booked for October again due to seeing a good offer at the beginning of the year offering 30% off. Booked AKL for the four of us with flights through Disney for £4900. Both our children now have to have adult park tickets, so that included four adult tickets for 14 days and we get $150 when we get there.
I would just keep looking out for offers to come up, travel planners also seem to be competitive when I got a quote from them.
Should also mention, our flights are not direct, this is the compromise we make to save some money.
You could of course go to Europe for a beach holiday instead. Weather in summer is lovely in Spain, if you like sun and heat, not as humid as Orlando in the summer either. You could rent a villa or apartment instead of a hotel and book cheap flights with Ryan air or easy jet. If you are not tied to school holidays you will get good deals.

If you have to stick to school hols its not easy. If you can go out of the hols the prices are far better but I can't justify Disney prices anymore, even with free DDP.

Our next trip is in July, 16 nights at the Hilton Garden Inn LBV, VA flights and car rental, total £900pp

One after that is Sept, flight to Barcelona, 1 nights hotel, 14 nights Disney Cruise, flight from San Juan to Orlando 7 nights in a 2 bed apartment at Hilton Bonnet Creek, and direct flight home, all for about £1,300pp
