Can we possibly do this?

Have tickets to the 9pm Cirque show on Dec. 19. We had originally planned to be at AK that day giving us plenty of time to get to DTD and the show. Now because we've switched resorts we'll be going to MGM on the 19th instead. Is there any way that we could watch Fantasmic at 7 and then make it to Cirque by 8:30? I know the answer is probably no but I was hoping . . .

I would say no, mainly because it takes so long to get out of MGM after Fantasmic.

Do you have a car? DTD is not that far from MGM, only about 8 minutes.

No - no car this trip. I'm pretty sure we're not going to make it. If it was just me I'd skip Fantasmic - it's not one of my favorites - but my sister has never seen it. We'll head over another night - maybe after AK or something.

Maybe a taxi? It can get you from door to door in very little time.

Even with a taxi, you probably won't make it. Most of your time will be taken up in trying to get out of MGM. Even if you did make it, you probably wouldn't totally enjoy either experience. All during Fantasmic, you'll be worried about getting out quickly and speeding to the exit, and then you'll arrive at Cirque in a rush.

If you do the Fantasmic dinner package and sit in the reserved sections, you can actually get out pretty quickly. We have gotten from Fantasmic to our car in the parking lot in about 20-25 min and the show is less than 30 min.

So, if you had a car, you could easily do it.

Since you don't have a car, I still think you could do it but you would arrive closer to the 9pm showtime instead of 8:30.

The key is to get out of the amphitheater quickly and sitting in the dinner package seats really helps with that.
