Can we make it? Fastpass for Fantasmic?

So i've been trying to fit Fantasmic into our upcoming trip - I LOVE Fantasmic, but have skipped it on some trips because of the wait time and crowds and of course, other plans. We are going to Epcot on our first day and have an early dinner at Chefs De France at 4:10pm. I'm hoping to go from there to Hollywood Studios on the boat and then go to Fantasmic at 7. I think we'll make it there but I hope to be able to get in because I know sometimes you have to line up pretty early to get in. We don't need the best seats or anything, so that's not a concern. Is it possible to get a same day fast pass for Fantasmic? We have fast passes scheduled for Epcot that day already which I don't want to change - I'm going to look for one right after we use the third fast pass we have but is it usually easy to get?

We got Fantasmic FP last night for 2 people. Got them same day around 4:00 pm.

Due to our schedule we didn’t arrive at Fantasmic entrance until 6:30 for the 7:00 show. There was a mass of people entering and some were scanning their bands and others were walking in without scanning. We were definitely at the marked FP entrance but it really didn’t seem to matter.

Once inside we were directed to go far left which is where everyone had to sit who was arriving at that time. We were in the upper benches in the farthest section to the left. The view was fine though of course center would be preferable.

A CM said if you want the best FP seating you need to arrive an hour before showtime. It would not have been worth it to us to do that.

On a side note, once the show began, the ropes were removed from the wheelchair area and many people moved down and toward the middle to get better seating.

I'm going to look for one right after we use the third fast pass

As soon as you enter the FP queue for FP#3, begin looking for the Fantasmic FPs.

A few minutes before Fant begins, all Standby guests are allowed to enter the FP area if the Standby area is filled.

I don't see why you wouldn't make it. If your dinner is at 4:10, there's no reason that you wouldn't be finished by 5:30-ish. You're right there by the International Gateway...get the boat there....ride to HS and you'll be there around 6:15-ish (I'm painting with broad strokes here). 45 minutes before showtime is fairly standard. I think you'll be fine. I assume you're going fairly soon because you state that Fantastic is at 7. Have a great trip!

Yes, we're going next week! We'll check in at dinner at 4:00pm i'm sure, but I would imagine we won't take too long (not that I want to rush or anything).
