Grrrrr ..... I booked our flights a few months ago already and originally had a 12:43 flight out of Orlando back home. Now the airline has informed me they bumped it to 11:17 AM. What are our chances of getting off the ship and to MCO in time? Last time we took the Disney transportation right from the ship to the airport and it ran pretty quick, but is this pushing it? I checked Airtran's website and they don't have any other flights later that day. What do I do?????? :confused3 By the way, they also bumped our flight to Orlando up by 5 hours, which means my kids are going to miss an additional day of school. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks DISers!!!

This would be very tight, but do-able. Barely.

If you book the early seating for meals, the last day you will eat VERY early (is 645 right?).

Eat, get off the boat ASAP (by 8am).

That puts you in MCO about 9 (if NO traffic) and that leaves 2.25 hrs.

Piece of cake.

Unless....

When is your cruise? You can make it but if ANYTHING delays the ship or delays customs, you're gonna be toast.

Does your airline have any rules concerning time changes and you having to accept them? is there a later flight you could take? I would at least ask what your options are. I think that 11:17 is cutting it really close - and you are on vacation and should not have to worry about that.

It's been done, but I wouldn't try it.

Airtran did the same thing to us for our upcoming trip and allowed us to cancel without penalty. We then re-booked with SWA and saved over $200 for the three of us.

Are there any other airlines that you could use? If so, call Airtran and explain the situation.

We just got off the Wonder on 8/21/05 and we made it to SeaWorld by 8:45 am, however, we had a rental car.

Also, use the services of one of those porters when you first get off the boat... man, do those guys know how to move you through quickly!!!

For our last two trips to MCO, we found security to take a very long time to get through. I've never flown Airtran, but if they don't have any type of self check in, that may take awhile too. We fly SWA and they don't have self check-in at MCO and that added another 50 minutes in addition to at least 30 min for security.

Song did this to us for our upcoming November cruise. I just called, explained that DCL doesn't recommend anything before 12:30 and they switched to a 2:30 flight that afternoon, no charge of course. I wouldnt' try it, not worth the stress. Now we can spend a few hours at Down Town Disney and have lunch or something.
