I've just never seen anyone do this at Disney. If we don't finish, get we get our leftovers wrapped up?

Sure you can, but what are you going to do with it? My dad was always a big doggie bag person. One time we ate at the castle, and he ordered the prime rib. As usual, he enjoyed all of the side dishes and ate very little of the actual meat. Normally, he would take it home and use it for another meal later in the week. But, we were at WDW. We were carrying this meat around the MK in the heat of summer! Needless to say, we deposited it in the nearest trash bin when Dad wasn't looking. What a waste of a great piece of meat! Oh, Dad is a source of many funny memories like this! He has Alzheimer's now and will never get to visit WDW again. I'm glad he and Mom had so many nice visits.

Honestly, it might not last through the night. It's good to have the leftovers to pick on back at the room::yes:: What a beautiful memory of your Dad. My Dad passed from lung cancer in 1/2007 and it's the little memories that I hold dear.:flower3:

we'll take what is able to be taken, i.e. french fries, chicken nuggets, and then the kids can snack on them a little later. we don't ask for a to-go box, we'll put them in the empty popcorn buckets.

When we do ddp we always get our desserts to go. When we're going back to the hotel we'll get doggie bags for our extra entrees.

Yup, you sure can.

We've done it every time we've had a fridge in our room....

The leftovers make great "midnight snacks". :)

I think many people don't do it because they either don't have a fridge, or they're headed to parks/other activities after dinner.

We often get a "to-go" box - the white styrofoam boxes they'll give you for leftovers. We're usually too full to enjoy the desserts after a large dinner, so we take them with us for a late night snack. And at times we've had enough left from meals for a nice lunch the next day. We're DVC, so we have a fridge at hand. I wouldn't eat anything that had been sitting out overnight.

Don't hate me for this IheartDisney but do you know you spelled substitute wrong in your signature?

We have lots of times. Especially on the DDP. But we're also usually in a DVC room with a fridge/micro. I wouldn't eat leftovers that had been left out for a long period of time though.

I am glad someone posted this because I was wondering the same thing. We will be dining at some resort restaurants for dinners and will not be returning to a park so carrying it around is not an issue. I like knowing that we can take our desserts with us and have at the room later. I dont want to hog up the table until we are ready to eat it. LOL.

We have taken our deserts to go as well. When we ate at Jiko, I ordered creme brulee (my favorite) without giving it any real thought. I was quite suprised when we got back to the room and saw that they had even sent it in the ceramic ramekin. Now that's service. We later dropped the dish off at the hotel desk so they could send it back to Jiko.

Here in my home state, Victoria (not sure about the other states) in Australia it is against the law for restaurants to supply "doggy bags". And that law applies literaly as well.
You cannot be supplied with a bag even if you just want to take your chop bone home for the dog! pluto:
