Can we finally add DDP for 2007?

Before you add the dining to your ressie, go to the dining board and check out the 2007 list of participants, as more than 34 places are no longer listed. Many of the world showcase places are not participating. Of course, things could change, but can't believe Disney printed a new brochure for 2007 if it looked like these places will change their minds. Only 4 countries are now listed and most of the CS meals around WSC are not listed anymore. Currently CSR is no longer listed either, but some are waiting to see if that's a mistake. Only one place listed for DTD now (Cap. Jack), no TS or CS for DTD. This may make you revisit whether the ddp is good for you, if the places you planned to eat at are not on the list anymore. :confused3

They did add room service meals at resorts that offer it...for TWO credits. Official rules now state that adults may NOT use child credits, so I guess they are seperating those next year, as well. Hopefully with these changes we'll see some quality return to Disney restaurants and less standardized menus.

Thank you N2MM. Actually, I had already read the information about all the changes before starting the thread. Also called my husband and have already changed my ADR's with WDW Dine 5 minutes ago to reflect the announced changes. (And I wonder why my husband calls me the Uber Martha Stewart of WDW Planning :rotfl2: ).

Instead of Marakesh on Jan 24th to go along with Epcot evening EMH I got one of the last tables at Le Cellier. Also cancelled Ragland Road for later in the trip and instead choose to try another place on my "have not been there yet" list, Cape May Cafe ( might as well since we will be at BWV across the lake).

Having done the DDP back in March I am a true believer in "the plan". It makes WDW dining very affordable and I like the inclusive resort feeling it gives. Give card and your done. I don't even care about the $1 increase, still worth it to me. I only hope others will do the same and maybe the restaurants left out will notice the difference.

We enjoyed the DDP while it lasted, but we're done with it. We'll use DDE for a few meals each time and eat offsite for the rest.

I hope so too! We don't use DDP, but do use DDE.

I dunno... Seems like most Disney restaurants people were complaining about (Olivia's, Coral Reef, etc) are the only ones still on DDP.

I'm hoping this is just an interim plan. If it's the final plan, they don't want my business onsite.

I loved eating in the countries, this is disappointing. I was taking my family back to Epcot on the DDP next year. Now we will have to plan to use Plan B. I'll have to figure out what Plan B is.

Very disappointing that most of the countries will no longer be part of the DDP Program. What are CSR and WSC though?

CSR- I think is Corando Springs Resort

WSC??? Not sure there.

Personally I think that the "non participating" resturants may make MORE money. Disney could not have been paying them that much for each meal, probably less then they will make off folks like me who don't do DDP.

We booked the Dining Plan for February yesterday. We can also now book Magical Express (but you need the exact name for all the travelers -- we're traveling with guests and need to check on what their IDs have them listed as...)

I wouldn't get concerned about the list of participating restaurants yet. There are over four months for that list to change. FWIR, something similar happened last year, and will probably happen every year, as Disney and the non-Disney restaurants negotiate for their participation.

Thanks! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

How far in advance do you need to book te DDP? We are renting points for a stay Jan 14 - 19 and would like to see what happens with all of the restaurants, particularly in Epcot, that are currently not participating in the DDP. Hoping they will get added back on the list. Want to make sure we don't miss the window to add DDP though. Thanks!

I've been told "3 days prior to check-in" several times now.

I've made a not very fearless prediction over on the DDP board that the January lineup will look just like the 2006 lineup. I think we've all (myself included) overreacted to the first listing published.

I'd go ahead and sign up for DDP and get that out of the way. You can always say, "No thanks" at checkin if you change your mind.

Thanks to both replies! I didn't realize you could wait so long to add DDP or that you could cancel it at check-in. Makes it very flexible!

This is the case for DVC members. Other guests don't have quite so much flexibility since their Dining Plan must be attached to a vacation package.
