I went to my brother's wedding this weekend and since DH and I never had a wedding, I am thinking of doing a vow renewal at Disney. It wouldn't be until 2014 so there is plenty of time, but I have a few questions that you guys might know.

Do we have to have a ceremony, or can we just have the reception at Disney? I know where I would want a little ceremony at, where it would just be us saying our vows and not the WHOLE ceremony, but would that be allowed? I have so many crazy ideas and waaaaaaay too much time to plan this. Anyone have any similar stories? Oh and I found an article on passporter about have a vow renewal, but they had a big ceremony. Thanks

There are several options for vow renewals, but for 2014, unless they extend the Memories option, you are looking at several thousand dollars to do one on Disney property. There are DCL options, Swan and Dolphin or Shades of Green if you are military.

That being said, if you just wanted to do a "reception" of sorts, you could go through group dining to do a meal.

More specifics would help people give you more ideas.

As SWMHC says, unless the 'Memories' package is extended, your smallest and cheapest option will be the 'Escape' package going through DFTW. Doing it 'unofficially' has it's risks. Nobody can stop you going to a place and repeating your vows to one another, but if you want an officiant, dress, flowers cake etc. you risk being ejected if you haven't been done the official route!!
