If I have 2 contracts at 2 different home resort, but same uy- i make home ressie at 11months with 1 contract points. Then come 7 months window and call MS to use my other home resort points for that ressie instead so i can bank the original points used for that ressie. Is that doable? Let me know if i need to clarify my question.

From the member website:
What you need to know about Home Resort Priority:

  • All reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • You have exclusive access to request reservations using your Home Resort Vacation Points at your Home Resort 11 to eight months in advance of the check-in date. If, at a later date, you wish to use Vacation Points from another Disney Vacation Club Resort, you cannot "switch out" the Vacation Points.
  • You may request reservations at all other Disney Vacation Club Resorts as far as seven months before your check-in date.
  • In order to take advantage of the Home Resort Priority, all Vacation Points being used to make the reservation must be associated with your Home Resort.
  • Other booking guidelines apply when making reservations for The Disney Collection, World Passport Collection, Concierge Collection and Adventurer Collection.

You would have to cancel and rebook if still available.

Oh, so that means while i'm on the phone with MS, i can tell him to cancel the ressie and then have him rebook it right away with the other points. As long as it still available.

You would be better off trying to reserve using the other points before canceling.

True,
The reason I ask is to see if we can take advantage of the 11months window in 2 consecutive year if u have 2 different contract. Bank the points so the following year, can book a longer stay or bigger rooms and still have the 11 month window without borrowing. :)

The key point being "if it's available". I just did this... for a different reason... and although I was canceling one resort reservation, I was not able to rebook the same resort because it was now "not available".

I'm not sure how these things get worked out, but I certainly wouldn't assume that your original resort would be available for rebooking. It's a complete cancelation of one reservation and a completely new reservation for the other. At least that's how it was explained to me.

KWIM??

If someone was on the wait list, they might scoop it up automatically even before MS has a chance to rebook it.

Our way of dealing with 2 "homes" (OKW & AKV) with the same use year is this:

For our 2009 trip, I used our 2009 OKW pts & borrowed our 2010 OKW points to book our whole week. Then at 7 mos, I was able to switch to BCV (but I would have been happy staying at OKW if BCV wasn't available).

We will bank our 2009 AKV points.

For our 2010 trip, we will be able to use our AKV points from 2009 and 2010. We really want to stay at AKV in 2010, so we are happy that we will be able to take advantage of the 11 month window.

We will probably repeat the same thing for 2011 and beyond, borrowing and banking as needed so that we're using either all OKW points or all AKV points. We like to take advantage of the 11 month window.
