Can we do this, or am I crazy?

OK, here is what I want to do. The day we arrive at Disney, we had planned on spending the day at Downtown Disney. Our girls have an appointment at 1:00 at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Other than that, our day is loosely planned. I want to surprise my DH and make a dinner ressie at the ESPN Cafe at the Boardwalk. We also want to stop by Sassagoula Floatworks at POFQ and get some Beignets for dessert.

Would it be better to take our own car to get around, or is the bus transportation OK? We'd rather not drive, but we also don't want to wait and be on busses all day either. Does anyone know what the parking situation is over there? The one other time we have been at WDW we parked the car and didn't see it again until we left LOL, so I never paid attention to the parking. Any advice would be great! Thanks! Oh, we will be arriving there Dec 16 and are staying at Wilderness Lodge.

In this situation, take a car if you have one. It could take a long time to do what you are trying to do using Disney transportation. Its all pretty close but bus hopping will take forever. Using your car it will only take a few minutes.

You could pretty easily take a bus from DD to the Boardwalk for dinner, but to get to another hotel after that you would need to take a bus back to DD and then transfer to a hotel bus. If it were me, I'd take a cab over to POFQ. We used cabs twice during our stay to get to dinners (we stayed at Pop, and the dinners were at AKL and WL), and it cost us no more than $15 round trip (and you shouldn't have to even go that far, I don't think), and was well worth not having to transfer buses! You could take a bus from POFQ to MK and then take the boat over to WL, or again use a cab. BTW, you can go to the bell services counter at any of the hotels and they will call a cab for you. :thumbsup2 Sorry, I have "mommie brain", and didn't realize that you'd have your own car! :lmao: Use your own car! :goodvibes

 Sorry I can't help on the transportation issues because we always use Disney (park our car at the hotel during check in, and never see it again until checkout!), but I do know that ESPN Club doesn't take ressies - the last time we were there we waited and waited for a table and finally got in, and then the "vultures" (other waiting customers, teehee) kept circling with an eye on our table to jump on as soon as we got up to leave, so you might consider that in your time calculations :goodvibes

I personally like taking the car better I dont like waiting for the bus.... Oh and Beignets are DELICIOUS

Glad to hear about the cabs! We are flying down to disney for our honeymoon cause we vowed never to drive down again! So we are relying on DME at the airport and busses to the parks and then cabs to Universal!

Thanks everybody for the info. All things considered, I think we will take our own car. Thanks also for the heads up about ESPN not taking ressies - I'm thinking we will head over there early then (before dinner hour) and eat, then maybe take a walk on the boardwalk and then head over to POFQ for the beignets - haven't had them since I was preggers with DD5 at Downtown Disney in California, and I am SOOOOOOOOO looking forward to it!!!!!!!
