Can we choose how many days we want the dining plan ?

Can we choose not to pay for the dining plan every night of our stay ? If we have a room discount for 4 nights and added only 3 day base tickets, can we also only have the regular dining plan for 3 days. One day we plan to go to universal studios. I just wondered because we wont be able to use it the day we go to universal and that would save some money.

DDP will be equal to the number of nights you are staying. So if your ressie is for 4 nights, you DDP will be for 4 nights.

Remember though, you can use the plan until midnight of check out day. We always save 2 counter service credits & get food to take to the airport. We have a leisurely meal just before Security in that lovely little courtyard then head to the gate. Obviously works if you're driving too.

You could also do a 2 TS credit meal, have a nice breakfast before going to Universal or a late dinner after you get back.

Ok I was thinking since the dining plan cost so much a night that if we didnt pay for one night it would save us some money.

Only on a DVC reservation. On a regular package reservation you must purchase the dining plan for everyone for each night you stay. To do what you are suggesting you would have to book multiple packages - and purchase tickets with each package, unless you're an annual passholder or eligible for the military room discount.

The dining plan has no relation to the length of your park tickets. It is based solely on the number of nights you stay in the resort.
