Can we check in early?

We are driving from Maryland for our trip in late September and we had originally wanted to drive straight through, However, after thinking about it further I realized that we will get there completely EXHAUSTED and will probably waste the first day of our UPHs sleeping. So I think we are going to stay over night and just drive from southern GA or northern FL on Saturday morning. So here is my question. We want to be able to go to a park or even DTD on Saturday, but can we check in early and just not go to our room. We just want somewhere to leave the car. If we can't check in early, we couldn't go to the parks because we wouldn't have our tickets yet.
Do we need to call in advance to request an early check in?
Will they tell us when we can come back and get into our room?
If we can check in early, can we just leave our luggage and car in the POP parking lot and hop on a bus?
How does this work?

Sorry for all the questions. This is my first trip as an adult without my parents/grandparents so I have never been responsible for the logistics before. I was just along for the ride Now I have to be a grown up sniff sniff

Yes!!! You can check in early Saturday and they will then give you your UPH and off to the parks. However, your room may or may not be ready. We did this last year. We stayed off site the night before and the day we checked in was around 7:30am, got our UPH and off to the parks. By the way, our room was ready. Probably because it was during a slow season. Have a great trip. Hope I helped

YEAHOO!! Thanks bugbugmom! I thought even if we could check in early that there would be a restriction on how early, but if you checked in at 7:30 then that's great! Do we need to call and request an early check in, or can we just show up? Thanks so much!!

Just show up. If you room isn't ready, they will take your bags and bring them up later. They will also give you a phone number you can call from the parks so you can see when your room is ready.

Do they have "house" phones in the parks or are they payphones? I just wanted to know if I need to bring quarters if it's a payphone. TIA!!
