Can We Camp in Our Car??

OP - I can't fathom how you fit 2 people in the back of a PT Cruiser. Those cars are mighty tiny. For your sake I was hoping you had something along the lines of an SUV. It's none of my business why you want to try it, but I don't think there's a rule against it. I've read a number of stories where tenters have given up on a leaky or hot tent in lieu of their car.

Use the dumpster behind the Wilderness Lodge. That's where TE is catered from. It would be like getting first in line at TE.

I don't dare. The DVC people would rat me out.

Depends... there are 2 dumpster areas. If you're talking about the WL dumpsters, go for it. If you're referring to VWL's, the dumpster-view rooms have the dumpster-mouse-cops on speed dial.

I'm not sure what I said wrong, but I wasn't trying to offend anyone. We have a PT Cruiser and we usually just remove the seats and sleep in the back.

We want to camp, not stay in a hotel. I suppose we could check out on the nights that we stay with friends, but I want to make sure we have a spot reserved. It seems safer to reserve for the whole two weeks.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying their popcorn.

I used to sleep in IFVs

Do they allow those at FW?
Are the IFV campers limited on which sites they can use?
Or do the IFVs make a site anywhere the dang well please?

I know this is a silly question,....but how in the world can you run your car for a/c and not get choked out of your tent from all the exhaust? I mean I know the tent filters it out...but does it truly filter all of it?

...or is that what those hippies like to smell at night? Does it clear the sinuses?

If you try to run your A/C while sleeping in the car, you may very well be making your last trip to the Fort. The tent does NOT filter out carbon monoxide fumes. You would need to make other arrangements for A/C if you plan to do this.

thats what I thought....didn't know if the original poster had thought of this? Or if I am that gullible to think that they thought of this?

Either way....I'm all for camping out of your car if your up to it! More power to ya!

I'm not sure where the a/c reference came from. It wasn't from me! Good luck to anyone who wants to try it.
