Can we bring water and snacks inside Disney Parks?

Hi. We would like to bring several water bottles and some snacks for the kids to each park. Would we be allowed or would our bags be checked at gate?
Thanks.

Bags are checked at the gate, but there's no prohibition against bringing in food and drinks. The rules are: no glass containers except for babyfood and medications; no alcohol; no large coolers or coolers with wheels (except for the waterparks which allow large coolers).

I have taken a small soft-sided cooler filled with bottled water and soda before. This past trip I didn't bother with the cooler and packed our steel reusable water bottles. I'd fill them with ice in the morning at the resort, then refill them with cups of ice water from the CS restaurants throughout the day. You can get free cups of ice water from any CS restaurant.

I usually take two bottles of water and a few snacks for the baby. We've never had any issues.

We like to take one or two hydration backpacks-- fill them with ice before we leave in the morning and refill with free ice water if necessary. Stays cold and we're not lugging bottles around the park.

They also have enough room for snacks and our other essentials (sunblock, cameras, etc).

Hmm. There's a thread on this over at the Disneyland board. We bring water/candy into the park, but go back to the room for meals/naps, so I haven't run into it personally, but the summary was: soft-sided coolers only, and have to be smaller than a certain size (I think the ones about the size of a bread loaf are good), you can eat meals from home in picnic areas but at the tables by CS restaurants, and you can bring pre-made stuff, but not ingredients (ie, you can bring a sandwich already constructed, but not bread, cheese, lettuce, meat separately). Will see if I can find that thread/link. Not sure about WDW.

At the four major parks (AK, DHS, EC, MK) coolers are restricted to "small, soft-sided, which can fit in a locker". And they cannot be rolling bags.

The only restrictions that apply to all parks (theme and water) are nothing in glass containers (other than medicines and baby food) and no alcoholic beverages.

Some things people don't think about (which tend to be in glass) are pickles, salsa, Mayonaisse, Starbucks drinks, Snapple drinks, Tabasco.

At the water parks any type or size cooler is acceptable. I have seen people come through the gate (Typhoon Lagoon) hauling wheeled coolers about 4' x 3' x 2½'. Note that the cooler can be on two wheels or carried, but the way the rules are written you can not have it in a wagon and it cannot have four wheels.

If you show up at the gate with prohibited items we will give you three choices:
(1) Take prohibited items back to your car or resort.
(2) Put prohibited items in the nearby trash can.
(3) (Only for other than alcoholic beverages) If you have plastic bags or cups you can dump the items out of the glass containers and throw away the container.

We frequently bring soft sided cooler with lunch - sanwiches, fruit, chips, cookies and drinks.

Security guys often comment how good lunch looks as they pass us thru.

Go for it! Saves money and time - no waiting in long food lines.

I agree, some of those lunches look really good. AFter a few days of eating WDW food, I really want to smack some people, stun them and take their food. lol. Ok, I really don't want to hurt anyone, but I want normal food so bad after about the third day, I am desperate.

I have a Mickey backpack cooler bag we filll with drinks for all 5 us throught the day(its heavy first thing in am so I keep it in the stroller as the day goes it gets lighter. We didnt by one drink last year for any meal that saved us around $60 a day so $420 or entire trip well worth it! My kids keep there snacks on them usually crackers, slim jims, granola bars. etc.

and nothing with straws at Animal Kingdom!

We completely forgot about that and had to rip and throw away the straws attached to the juice boxes.

We have bottles that have an insulated type holder that has a shoulder strap. We got them at one of the souvenir stores right outside of downtown Disney for just a few dollars. Fill with ice water from our resort and it last half the day, nothing like a cool drink while waiting in a long hot line. Since they have shoulder straps our hands are free all day. used those for last 5 trips we liked them so well. The bottles are quite a bit bigger than regular water bottle size. They even had some with mickey and characters on it.
