Can We Bring Rented Stroller Back To Hotel?

We are going in Sept and staying at the CR. We are thinking of renting a double stroller for the 3 days we plan on spending at the MK. Is it a pain to rent the stroller once we get to the park? Can we bring the stroller back to the resort to use the next day (going 3 days in a row) or do we have to rent one every day? How expensive to rent? Do you recommend renting? Thanks, Linda

Easy to rent one but you can't take it out of the park so you have to rent a new one each day. Sorry don't remember how much it is. We liked the Disney strollers. Plus we liked not having to mess with folding down our own on the bus/tram.

A stroller rented at a park must stay at that park (they are not collapsible anyway).

But taking a collapsible stroller ON the Disney transportion is very cumbersome (especially when you and everyone else is tired at the end off a long day) and it takes up a lot of space on crowded buses/boats/monorails.

Renting a Disney stroller at the park each day can save a lot of transportation problems.

That said, many people bring their own collapsible stroller and struggle with it back and forth on the buses/monorails/boats.
Something we decided we would never want to do.

They are pretty expensive. It is about $7-10 dollars for a single, and about $18 for a double.

If you are staying at CR, you can roll your stroller right onto the monorail for the trip to Epcot and MK. Not a problem at all -- you don't have to collapse them on the monorail. The strollers are expensive at the park and depending on what time you get to the park, you may wait in line to get them. At each of the parks, the stroller rental is when you first enter.

Through each of our 7 trips, I have had a collapsible stroller and always been thankful for it at the end of the day. I could at least roll my child onto the monorail or out to the car -- we always drive to the parks with the AAA Diamond Parking pass. One year we did rely on Disney transportation and I do agree that taking a collapsible stroller on the buses is a real pain. Instead of taking a double stroller, how about 2 umbrellas? Not knowing the ages of your kids, it's hard for me to judge what might be easiest.

The strollers can get expensive to rent, but IMHO, their biggest drawback is the fact that you can't take them out of the parks. Staying at the CR, it's so easy to be able to wheel your (sleeping) kids onto the monorail, off the monorail and all the way back to your rooms.

For AK and MGM, yes, you will have to fold up the stroller and get it on the bus with you, but the walk from the front of the park to the bus (where there are very few seats while you wait) and then from the bus to your room (at most resorts) can be verrry looong. (Not to mention getting around the resorts while you're there.) So I'd recommend BYO stroller, but make it the umbrella stroller, so it's easier to take on the busses and attractions with you.

I'd also advise against the double stroller, as long as you have 2 people who can push strollers. Doubles are bigger, heavier, more difficult to get on and off transportation and more diffcult to navigate through heavy crowds.

Have a great time!

If the monorail is busy, you may be asked to take your child out and fold. Some people have reported that their double strollers can only be wheeled onto the wheelchair accessible monorail car. If there are no guests using wheelchairs or ECVs, you will be able to do that; if there are, you will need to fold your stroller or wait for another car.
