"If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all."

Please no negative replies on here, since that's basically the point.
Lately there seems to be an extra helping of negativity and personal attacks on threads. We all have bad days, we all can be reactive, we all get annoyed, and it's so easy to judge. I'm certainly guilty of all of it. The thing is, we are a community. These are OUR PEOPLE! People come here to feel happy and excited and supported. We are DISNEY lovers! We aren't just rando's in line at Target or people at some gas station...we are DISNEY people!!! Even if that's ALL we have in common, that's a pretty awesome one thing!
. So why are we turning on each other instead of giving people the benefit if the doubt and making snap judgments?
I'm not talking about "negative" threads in general. We can all certainly express disappointment, anger, fear, etc about any number of things, it's the threads that attack each other that just seem unnecessary. I mean, why? Why is this happening on the DISNEY forum?
I would just ask if we can all (myself included) take a second before posting to consider what it might (or might not) accomplish to post a reply that's got a bit of an edge to it. Does it help the original poster? Does it truly make us feel better to sound off? How would a Disney character respond? Is there a different way we can phrase it so that any advice or viewpoints will actually be absorbed instead of reacted to. Is it a reflection of our best selves that others in the community are seeing? Or maybe, just maybe, if we have such a strong negative opinion, is it better to realize we likely won't change anyone's mind and maybe it's better to go drool over the food pics over on the dining threads instead?
I see threads on how the CM's have turned nasty, and magical touches are gone. Maybe it's up to us to provide that magic and kindness to each other. And who knows, maybe it will be contagious enough to reach all the way to Orlando.
All my best, and I hope you all have an incredibly magical day.
