Can WDW tkts really be traded for WDL tkts?

I just read on another site that unexpired leftover days on a WDW ticket can be exchanged for WDL tickets, they just make a deduction and give you a WDL or DCA or Hopper in exchange-depending upon what you are trading? Is this true? Has anyone ever done it?

I would be thrilled if this is the case because in Feb we bought all 4 of us WDW 10 day Magic Your Way passes(as part of our package) with no exp, water parks & hopper features. At the time I figured the purchase would free up some $ for our 2007 WDW trip. NOW, we really want to do WDL & SoCal but the thought of the extra ticket expenses bugs me when we have about 10 days total for WDW just sitting in my Safety Deposit Box :sad2:

Any experiences with this would be a great help.

Check the Disneyland board for info on this. I did this in June, but my WDW tickets were the old park hoppers and not the newer Magic Your Way tickets. I just handed them the ticket at the gate and told the CM it was a WDW ticket. CM pressed a button somewhere that called over another CM from somewhere else (in just a few minutes). The 2nd CM took the ticket somewhere and checked it and deducted a day from it and then brought it back. The gate CM then gave a DL park hopper to use for that day in the fastpass machines and for re-entry. Quite easy. I'm just not sure they do this with the newer Magic Your Way passes.

Yes, you can do this. I did in April. Just like previous post said. Felt like a "free day" at Disneyland & Calif Adventure since I wasn't going to use the days at WDW before they expired!

I'm wondering why you would do this since a day at DL costs less than a day at WDW.

In a word, guilt.

I already have close to $1,000 in tickets sitting in my Safety Deposity box whose purpose was to reduce our costs for 2007 (or so I told DH). There comes a point when even I think I'm being obscene with my WDW spending, of course it doesn't come along too often. To quote Captain Jack, "I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass me by."
