Can WDW tkts really be traded for WDL tkts?

I just read on another site that unexpired leftover days on a WDW ticket can be exchanged for WDL tickets, they just make a deduction and give you a WDL or DCA or Hopper in exchange-depending upon what you are trading? Is this true? Has anyone ever done it?

I would be thrilled if this is the case because in Feb we bought all 4 of us WDW 10 day Magic Your Way passes(as part of our package) with no exp, water parks & hopper features. At the time I figured the purchase would free up some $ for our 2007 WDW trip. NOW, we really want to do WDL & SoCal but the thought of the extra ticket expenses bugs me when we have about 10 days total for WDW just sitting in my Safety Deposit Box

Any experiences with this would be a great help.

You are in luck, it can be done. Research carefully, sometimes Disneyland will have specials on their park hopper tickets in the off season which would possibly make it not a great deal since you paid plenty for those WDW hoppers/with no expry. And as a sidenote, this will only work when you convert WDW tickets to Disneyland tickets. DL tickets cannot be used at WDW since they are cheaper, and Disneyland hopper tickets expire something like 14 days after you first use them.

If it is a MYW ticket and you use 1 day from it, then it is a one day hopper ticket so you can do DL and DCA in the same day or is it just a one park ticket?

Also, can I exchange the night before to get a ticket to use the next day. Figure I'll be dying to get inside and if the process takes a while better to do it when it isn't busy : )

As long as your WDW ticket is a hopper then the one that DL will give you will be a hopper as well.

We did this back last year in May with some WDW hopper pluses that we had used back in 2000 & 2002 which didn't expire. Unfortunately you cannot exchange them until you are ready to enter the park. We tried to exchange them as well the night before to save time but they will not do that. When you arrive at the ticket gate (not the window where you purchase tickets, but where you actually enter the park), all you need to do is let them know that you want to exchange them for a DLR hopper and they will ask you to step aside, give them to another CM and they will go call WDW to check the value and what is available and bring you back a replacement hopper for the day. They will also give back your WDW passes and let you know what you have left to use on them after the day that was just deducted. Now we used them for three days, so everyday you have to do that, unfortunately you can't just trade them in for multiple days at once. My only other advise would be to get there early so you're not waiting amongst the heavy crowds walking in past you.

Just so I'm clear on this, you traded in the pluses. My DD and my mom have 3 plus options left on some old WDW hopper passes. Can they use that?

No, you cannot trade in the plusses. There are no "plus" options at DL. You can only use regular park-days.

Exactly! After they called WDW to confirm that we did in fact have park days left they deducted that park day and told us what we had left on the them, our tickets just happened to be hopper pluses. We are using the plus options for the water park days for this coming May in WDW

Has anyone actually tried this with MYW tickets? I know that old hoppers worked but have not heard a story from anyone using MYW tickets.
