Hello,

I have a few orphan Airmiles that I want to use for Universal tickets. They don't have an option for a one day/2 park ticket. If I get a single park ticket can I upgrade when I get there? Has anyone done this? Thanks.

I called them and asked this question because I plan to do the same thing. They said it is upgradable, no problem. The only time it is not is when it's a "complimentary" tickets - as printed on the back, then they can't upgrade.

I was planning on doing the same thing - upgrading Airmiles tickets - and I just got off the phone with UO customer service who told me there is a chance that you won't be able to upgrade them at all.

Basically, it boils down to the "value" of the ticket, as determined at the UO gate. I suppose this is sort of the same thing you said but I wish we had someone who either had an Airmiles UO ticket or has gone through the process before.

Yeah, I'm replying to myself but I've just spent my Airmiles and now it looks as if we CAN'T upgrade the ticket, as per a previous post:

I jumped through hoops this past fall trying to get a straight answer from Universal regarding adding an extra day to the AM passes. The bottom line is if there is no cash value marked on the tickets you cannot upgrade them. The AM tickets do not have a cash value listed on them.

Basically Universal said no to upgrading the tickets. This question has been asked couple times here and no one has reported any success doing this.

And to the OP if you do need to buy tickets best to go to Undercover Tourist over Expedia or Disney.

Check out mousesavers.com for the cheapest ticket sellers.

The first time I called, the CSR told me it was not upgradable. The next time I got a much more helpful csr who told me that tickets who are given out as a reward and have "complimentary" written on them are not upgradable. However, he said when you redeem them for points from a reward program, they are regular tickets and Universal will assign a value to them and will upgrade them from there.
It does seem to be dependent on the person you are dealing with, but I plan to jump up and down and hold my breath if they say they won't upgrade mine!

Remember that there is a guest services outside both parks. If you don't have luck at one, go to the other and even try different people at each if that doesn't work.

Airmiles really cut back on rewards where you could get gift cards so I got Universal cards to use up points even though we're not going at least for two years.

They look exactly like the tickets I got three years ago from Undercover Tourist, although on the back they have printed LOYALTYONE INC. I did call Universal and ask if they would expire and they said no and said they were regular tickets whatever that means.
