OK, I am very new at all of this and would really appreciate any suggestions, tips or recommendations. Thank you so much in advance! :worship:

Background:
I am going with my husband and two twin boys who will be close to 7. :yay: :yay: We are going in April (busy time). :sad1: We are staying at the Poly for 7 nights with a ddp and a 7 day park pass with no options, at present. I planned ts for dinners only so not to 'waste time' sitting during the day. If the boys need a break we will go back to the hotel in the afternoon for a quick swim and shower. We are not big eaters, but like good food and want a good environment for the kids to experience. The boys are not into princess or winnie the poo...:cool2: :cool2: would still love mickey, goofy, anything silly or preceived cool by other 6-7 year old (or older, of course) boys!:cool1:

Day 1 (arrival): Ohana

Day 2 (MK): Liberty Tree (however, I am not sure of this anymore after reading the reviews and discovered the characters won't be there anymore...other suggestions???

Day 3: (Epcot) Coral Reef

Day 4: (Hollywood) Mamamia Fantasmic Package

Day 5: (Animal) Fort Wilnerness Hoop De Doo (or Micky's Backyard??)

Day 6 (MK) Chef Mickey

Day 7 (Epcot) ?California Grill or Sci-Fi

Day 8 Depart

Day 1 (arrival): Looks good

Day 2 (MK): Crystal Palace - even though your boys may be past Pooh & Friends, it's a good meal and in the shadow of the castle. VERY Disney experience

Day 3: (Epcot) Looks Good

Day 4: (Hollywood) Looks Good

Day 5: (Animal) Good night for a show since AK closes Early

Day 6 (MK) Chef Mickey

Day 7 (Epcot) I wouldn't travel to either here,. Especially on your last park night, unless you want to go to the MK after dinner? Then California Grill. Otherwise maybe Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club? It's a beautiful walk through the International Gateway and has a great atmosphere.

Day 8 Depart

Most of your plans look great!!! I would have to second the PP that suggested Crystal Palace though. I have DS18 and DD17 and DH (who doesn't like going to WDW so much with me:confused3 ) and they had a blast at Crystal Palace!! They were up having fun with the characters and getting pictures made, etc. I had a blast there too and I'm with your DSs.... I don't like Pooh either!!!

On day 7, I would suggest you pick another EPCOT restaurant. There are many that are awesome there (although you already picked the best earlier in the week with Coral Reef:thumbsup2 ) and you could choose LeCellier, Rose and Crown, Tutto, or San Angel, depending on your family's taste. I don't think either of the two you have listed there are worth going very far for.

Have a great stay!!!

Just keep in mind, if you are staying 7 nights, you will have 7TS credits per person. Your list will have you over this amount since some of your listings are 2TS credits.:)

Also, for your Epcot day, and you don't mind another character meal, Garden Grill for dinner with Chip and Dale would be a lot of fun for little boys!

Thanks you so much! You guys are awesome for taking the time and I really appreciate it and will most likely change Liberty Tree to Crystal Palace.

:goodvibes

My thoughts:

Day 2: In MK, if Crystal Palace doesn't sound like something your boys would be interested in, the Plaza has great food, even better desserts, and is often overlooked which makes it easier to get ADRs.

Day 7: If you're at Epcot, California Grill or Sci-Fi are both going to take a lot of time out of the day for travel, and since you aren't planning on getting the park hopper add-on, Sci-Fi really isn't a practical choice at all.

Unless you're not planning to stop for dinner until you're done with the park for the day, I'd suggest trying Teppan Edo. My son was 7-ish the first time we took him to a Japanese steakhouse and he just loved it, so much so that Teppan Edo is his favorite Disney restaurant and the only "must-do" that we plan to return to every trip. Kids like the show the chef puts on while cooking, and the food is simple enough that even pickier eaters don't object.

Day 1 (arrival): Ohana

Day 2 (MK): Liberty Tree (however, I am not sure of this anymore after reading the reviews and discovered the characters won't be there anymore...other suggestions???

Day 3: (Epcot) Coral Reef

Day 4: (Hollywood) Mamamia Fantasmic Package

Day 5: (Animal) Fort Wilnerness Hoop De Doo (or Micky's Backyard??)

Day 6 (MK) Chef Mickey

Day 7 (Epcot) ?California Grill or Sci-Fi

Day 8 Depart

Day 2 - why don't you do California Grill here? Quick hop to the Contemporary from MK and it is on your original list.

Day 7 - You can't get into DHS, since you don't have the park hopper option. My suggestion is find something in Epcot or one of the Epcot resorts, like PPs suggested.

I like all the suggestions..... Day 5 if you are asking whether to do Hoop Dee Do or Mickey's Backyard.... I would do Hoop Dee Do.... I took my DS when he was 7 and he loved it ...we all did.... laugh out loud fun..... ENJOY:cool1:

MK is tough IMO because the Crystal Palace is loud and busy. Consider Ohana on that night (Lilo & Stitch) if you're leaving the park at dinner time and perhaps Kona Cafe the first night you arrive (if you don't wish to leave the property), or hop the monorail to the Grand Floridian and try 1900 Park Fare, Citricos, or Narcoossee's. If you intend to stay at the MK through dinner, I'd opt for Tony's Town Square.

The rest looks good to me.

*Lilo and Stitch are only at Ohana for breakfast, not dinner.:)

On day 2 I would also suggest Crystal Palace. The food is great and even if they are not Pooh fans(we aren't either) the atmosphere is still great.

On day 4 I would do 50's Prime Time Cafe instead of Mama Melrose.(although I don't believe 50's offers the Fantasmic package) 50's is so much fun and great food too. Our kids have always loved it.

Day 7, stay at Epcot and if you like Italian go to Tutto Italia. They have a fantastic kids menu too with all the food so, so delicious!!

That's just my 2 cents!;)

Get a park hopper, you won't regret it. Too many table service meals for me, we usually plan on every other night, but we always end in Epcot so we have choices.

I would hit Biergarten in Germany and try to get into Le Cellier in Canada.

At that age, they will love Epcot.

California Grill is one of my favorites. Kona Cafe in POLY is good too. Really good cinnamon rolls in the morning at Kona coffee stand.

POLY is a great place to stay.

For your MK day, I highly recommend Whispering Canyons for your boys. I have a now 8 yr old boy who will tell you his favorite restaurant is Whispering Canyons. It is fun and campy. He can't wait to take his friends there this November. He will tell you the food is good at Crystal Palace, but Pooh is not exactly his favorite character any more.

I have never been to Hoop-Dee-Do review, but most of what I have read suggests either Hoop-Dee-Do review or Whispering Canyons. Remember Hoop-Dee-Do is 2 TS.

Day 2: Whispering Canyon Cafe (at WL) would be fun for your boys & easy to get to from MK.

Day 4: 50's Prime Time might be more fun for your boys

Day 7: Spoodles or somewhere in the BW/BC/YC area would be easy to do from Epcot.

Everything looks good. The ony thing is day 7
I would go to :
Prime Time
WCC
Teppen Edo
SI FI we don't do anymore. There menu is terrible in my opinion.
And this was one of our must do's.
Have a Magical Trip.:thumbsup2

I also recommend whispering canyon for boys. As far as Hoop de Doo vs. Backyard BBQ, we have done both, and it kind of depends on what experience you're after. Hoop de Doo is a dinner show, so you will sit at the table and be entertained mostly from a stage, but the performers do interact a bit with the audience. The BBQ is about participation. It is in an open air pavilion, and a country-western type band plays for quite a bit of the evening. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale all come out in costume and dance with the kids for much of the evening. It is crowded and can be hot, but is loud, raucous fun. A Will Rogers type trick roper entertains for a while, and I'm sure they do other entertainment types of things, but we never get to see them because our child has always collapsed from exhaustion before the end. Fun, but definitely not a relaxing way to end the day!
