Can two people share the Garmin 205 or 201?

You can share them but there will only be one profile in the Garmin. If you don't care about it when you download everything then you can share them.

Will the fact I'm only 4'11" and DH is 5'9" matter? Is it like my Nike+ where you have to calibrate it to your stride?

Thanks! :goodvibes

You don't have to calibrate it. It makes its measurements off of the GPS satallites in space. So anyone can use it at any given time and it will be just as accurate. I know the 301/305 updates with the heart rate monitor to get the right zones but I don't know if the 201/205 has anything like that.

DH and I share ours for now--I think he'll get his own for his bday. I just jot down under the notes section whose run is whose. Not that it would be hard to tell--since he's faster than me!;) We have the 205 and the only reason you would need to change the height or weight is if you wanted a more accurate calorie burning estimate (which I think is off anyway)

Ditto on Stephanie. DH even uses it for when he goes biking. We know which run/walk/bike is whose and just share for now. Tho I would love to upgrade so I can have my own!!!

Is it simple enough to change your weight and height each time?

I saw there are 101 and 201 versions, too that are a lot cheaper. Do they not pick up a signal as well?

And if the signal goes out does it catch itself up and correct itself?

Thanks everyone!

Shan--I think it's very easy to change the height/weight--might take 30sec or so--but I still think the calories burned isn't accurate anyway. I like the 205 better b/c it's more of a "watch" style--where the 201 is a little bigger. I've heard that the 201 loses signal more than the 205--but my running buddy last fall had a 201 and didn't have any probs. And for the last question, when mine loses signal it accounts for the "lost time and distance" when the signal picks back up. It happened to me at the Minnie--for some reason the big ball at Epcot knocked the signal right out!

Mine loses signal all the time in wooded areas of the trail I run. Tho it does seem to catch up, so I believe Stephanie! It is kind of annoying when my jogging pace is a 20 minute mile, but my overall pace seems to be close or on. I don't follow the calories burned at all because I don't believe they are ever that accurate, even on a TM. I just use it as an estimate.
