Can transferred points be used for existing reservation?

I have an existing reservation with current UY points. If I were to get points transferred to my account could I assign those points to an existing reservation so I would be able to bank my current UY points needed for a longer trip next year?

Are you worried about losing the reservation if you cancel and rebook? Are you transferring from another of your own contracts?

If you booked after 7 month or are transferring the same home resort points, MS should be able to reshuffle points for the reservation without risk of losing the room.

If you get points transferred in, you can also bank those points. They still retain their UY so you just have to make sure you get the right UY for when you're planning your big trip.

If you made the reservation during home resort priority time, you would need points from the same resort. Otherwise, it would be a rebook and if there isn't any availability, you would lose the reservation.

Firstly I definatley don't want to lose my existing reservation. Second if I found a transfer of expiring points I couldn't bank might be cheaper. All bookings at 7 months.

Banked points can't be transferred. If someone transferred June UY 2014 points right now, you can still bank them. Atleast I was able to with transferred points. They don't follow the 4 month banking rule.
