Can tickets be used for someone else?

Can tickets bought as part of a package be saved and used by another family member?

So long as a ticket has not been used at all, it can be used by anyone. Once it has been used, it will be assigned to that person in Disney's system.

Thank you!! So when he buys a package in September the ticket will not be "assigned" to him in his MDE? Where would this ticket be "stored" ? He wants to buy an AP now for his May trip and I would use the ticket that comes with the package to upgrade to a DVC AP for myself. We habe to buy his ticket today to make fastpasses so I am desperate for clarification.

It will be assigned to him - but unless Disney changes things between now and September you will have no issues re-assigning that ticket to someone else. Once you see the ticket in MDE I would suggest moving it right away to the person you are giving it to or moving it to a "random name" you set up in MDE to be sure it isn't accidentally accessed when your husband enters a park.

Thank you so much. Off to buy his ticket, just in time to make fastpasses :)

You can also upgrade the package ticket to an annual pass, but that has to be done in person.

He's going in May, room only then again in Sept. I figured it is best to get his AP to cover the May and Sept trips unless I'm missing something.

I think the confusion is in why buy a "package" in Sept. when he already has an AP (activated in May) and you have a DVC AP.

Why not book "room only" in Sept. as well?
Then, there would not be an "extra" ticket to reassign to anyone.
(And, I see from your other post it is because you want to book with "Free" Dining.)

Looks like you’re hoping for free dining in September. So, yes, you can transfer the ticket to someone else or he can save it for later.

Yes. He's going regardless but the friends he is going with are hoping for free dining.

I just posted this situation on your other thread with the same question...

I am at a total loss as to WHY nobody answered your clear and basic ticket question
for virtually 24 hours?
