I have us booked at the Comfort Suites for $55 a night in December(sleeps 6 -studio suite-w/ micro and mini fridge)
I thought this was a great deal!
Today however I was (as usual) looking for deals and doing searches when I came across this site http://www.floridavacationstore.com/
For the heck of it I typed in our plans to see what a "vacation package" would cost us through them.....
they have us in a 2 bedroom suite at our 5-Star Westgate Town Center Resort-condo for 8 people with a king size bed in the master bedroom, two doubles in the 2nd bedroom, a queen size sofa sleeper sofa in the living room. There is a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, wet bar, vcr, Jacuzzi in the master bedroom, and a furnished screened-in porch.
which is soooooooooooooo much better then 6 people in one room!!!
AND they have our 4 adult 2 child 5day hopper passes..
the TOTAL for the package (5 nights) was $2684.72+tax if we do the 90 minute vacation club presention it is
$1701.00+tax
OMG can that be right??????????????
Is it a scam?? Have any of you heard of or dealt with this place??

I don't think this rate is all that good, and Westgate is NOTORIOUS for their high pressure sales... BUT, now for the good news ;)

www.floridaorlandotickets.com has adult park hopper plusses for $864.00 for 4 adults & 346.00 for the 2 adults... The tickets total is $1210, the total is 2002, you get a nicer resort & no tour, but that's just what I'd do... I'd skip the Westgate deal...

Take a look at this! I plugged in December 1 - 7 at www.hotelkingdom.com, they have the Sheraton's Vistana Villages for 120.00 per night, 132.00 with taxes.... six nights would come to $792 & this resort is a lot better than Westgate, it's much newer & I really like the location!!

If you want to go for less, Hotel Kingdom had the following two bedrooms available:

Sunterra Cypress Point 2 bedroom: 93.00/night
Park Corniche 2 bedroom: 83.00/night
Summerfield Suites 2 bedroom trio suite 96.00/night Fourth night FREE

The following are available with a timeshare tour:
Wyndham Palms 2 bedroom: 50.00/night (1510.00 w/tickets)

If it's okay to spend just a little more, they had the Hilton Grand 2 bedroom for 132.00/night, this place is absolutely GORGEOUS, I'd absolutely love to stay there!!!

Hope this helps, I'd stay away from Westgate!

we stayed at westgate several years ago and absolutely hated it. They had so many golfcarts with salesmen and suckers enduring the presentation flying down the sidewalks at dangerous speeds that we were scared to let our kids out the door in the morning.

My DH and DS called them "hustlebuggies". It felt like staying in a car lot with lots of hungry salespeople rather than a resort.

We stayed at the Vistana resort and liked it much better; sales and tours handled much more low key

I'm sorry you experienced that, but Hustlebuggies is HILARIOUS!!!!

Not surprised about your experience however!

We stayed at the Cypress Pointe Grand Villas in a 2 bedroom condo this month (2 weeks ago). I have to say, I was very impressed. Lots of room, nice layout, and the little porch is screened in too! And, it was so convenient to the parks and everything else. No tricky back entrances and lots of restaurants and convenience stores in close proximity. The pools were very nice too! We paid $93 per night though Hotelkingdom!

We stayed at Westgate Vacation Villas in a new 2 bedroom you describe and loved the accomodation. We never saw a golf cart drive by that area. The sales pitch was low key, and as soon as we told them no, they were asking us if we needed driving directions. The bad part was check-in was unreal it was so bad, and the management (has since been replaced) was apathetic at best. We paid $350 for 6 nts, but that was with a free upgrade from the 1 bedroom because of the check-in nightmare. The 90 min. presentation took almost 2 hrs. which was well worth saving the $300 or so. The kids were having so much fun they wanted us to be gone longer. I was going to book Vistana, but we wanted the big jacuzzi tub and only get the corner tub in their 2 bedrooms. In 1 bedrooms I don't believe you get a jacuzzi. A whirlpool tub is an absolute must to dh and me, and we have yet to find better ones than at Westgate. Vistana is a lovely resort, but they weren't running any good deals when we were looking and quoted me $165/nt.

We went to Westgate Lakes and stayed in a studio and again did the presentation. The management was much better, and the accomodations were wonderful. The sales pitch was higher pressure than the time before, but we made it clear we wouldn't respond well to pressure, and it ended on a good note.

Because we were planning a 3rd trip to Westgate, and because we found the right price, we decided to purchase after that trip. If you are firm but tactful, you should have no trouble with pressure. For us even 2 hrs. of our time is worth saving $300+.
