If we fly in august, can we rent a car just to get from Sanford to WDW, turn the car in and rent it to return to the airport a week later, so we arent paying for a weeks rental....also, we have AAA if that helps?

Done all the time. Price it both ways. It may cost less then you think to keep the rental car for your entire vacation.

thanks for the quick response, on the phone now with AAA, but she is having trouble finding it
anywho, how does that work? where would the rental car pick up the car? In front of my resort? and how would i get it back?

You should be able to do a one way rental with Alamo/National from Sanford to the Car Care Center then a one way back from the Car Care Center to Sanford for the return trip back. There is a shuttle available from the Car Care Center back to the hotels though you need to reserve it in advance.

I would contact them to see what the rates and availability are.

We have found the best rates come from National at the BW Palace DTD. So be sure to check that & the Car Care Center. And it is super easy to get to. It is right across the street from the DTD Market Place bus stop.
