My mother in law has problems loading with the moving platform, Can they stop it to load?
Thanks
Jack

You have to step on a moving ramp that is quite steep going up to the ride. Then step onto the moving platform up there. It is actually quite challenging going up and then down that steep ramp more so than the moving platform up at the ride in my opinion.

This one stops for emergencies. It does not have an easy way to just stop and start like some of the newer rides.

They can slow the moving load/unload ramp, but not stop it.
That is not the big issue; the ‘speed ramps’ to get up and down from the load/unload area are the issue. They are very steep and are like escalators, but without the steps - made of the same kind of metal material as escalator steps.
They can feel slippery and I have seen people slip either going up or down many times.

And more often than I care to mention the “up” moving ramp is broken which means a long very steep climb to get to the loading platform :headache:

I was just at disney and the people mover stoped a number of times that I saw not saying they can stop it but I would talk t the CM at the ride to see what they say

As I mentioned, they can and do slow it. When they actually stop it, it’s usually because someone tripped, cars got too close to each other or some other issue.
They don’t like to stop it because there are no restraints and there have been multiple times where people climbed over the doors and got out - walking on the track, which is very dangerous.

The bigger issue is the steep speed ramps to get up and down from the raised load/unload area. If someone is concerned about the moving walkway and boarding, they need to be concerned with the speed ramps
