Sorry but I can't remember. Can the kids have their pins in their carry ons or do they have to go in checked bags. Also what about my all my Bare Escentuals make up? Can that go in the carry on as well?:confused3

BE makeup is not liquid, therefore it is fine in a carry on. However, I have the liquid eyeliner and lipgloss and I do put that in my qt sized ziploc to be safe.

We don't pin trade so I can't speak for those.

Pins are fine. There are many threads here already asking this question. You can do a search for more info.

Liquid makeup must be in your 311 bag. Check tsa.gov for more info.

Many people recommend that you put the pins in your carry on rather than in your checked luggage. We put ours in a clear plastic bag and take it out of the carry on before going through the x-ray equipment.

Pins are fine for carryon. We usually take about 300 with us when we travel to WDW. Our pinbag is always opened and hand-inspected at the security checkpoint, but other than that it has never been a problem.

I have flown multiple times with my WDW pin bags being packed in my carryon and never had any problems taking them on the flight. Sometimes when going through the security screaning they would get looked at and others times they weren't, so it's a 50/50 chance of that happening.

I usually carry my BE makeup in my purse or carryon and I've had them take it out and look at it a few times to see what it was but that's it. It was never a problem.

I always carry my mineral makeup in my carry on.

OT: but something I've found very useful for carrying mineral makeup on vacation are the stackable makeup jars with sifters and lids. They just screw together to make a skinny column of jars about 1"x4 1/2", so you can take a variety, but they still take up very little space. I got some very small 3gr ones on Ebay for around $6.00 a set. They're not much bigger around than a dime each, but when full are more than a week's supply. I usually carry a primer, foundation, two blushes, highlighter, and top coat stacked together, then six eyeshadows and two eyeliner powders in another stack. Them, their makeup brushes, a couple of travel size solid lipsticks and lip balm, and an eyelash curler, along with a small mirror and a small flat glass dish for swirling (like a votive candle fits on) all fit into my Vera Bradley Kiss & Makeup makeup bag (only about 7"x4"x2"). Even carrying just the smaller brushes (baby buki, fiber optic blush brush, fluff brush for the top coat, eyeshadow buki, a double ended eyeshadow/liner brush, eyeshadow blending brush, and lip brush, the brushes take up about as much (if not more) room as the makeup itself does.

I can't find my tiny 3 gr ones, but here are some fairly small 5 gr ones, (just don't bother with the larger 10 gr stackable jars as they are way too big):

Solid lip stick and lip balm can also go in the carry on. Just be sure to pack any lip gloss, mascara, liner gel, or misting spray in either the 3-1-1- bag or in the checked bag as they are considered liquid/gel, no matter how small. I always carry tiny sample size tubes of lip glosses, clear liner gel, and mascaras, but they are still liquids/gels. I never carry any full size makeup items on vacations. I'd rather have the space for other things.
