Hey...I wasn't calling anyone "ignorant" (what is it with assuming things I haven't said today?). If anything, I was implying that they were a little hypocritical, considering their criticism of Hollywood and actors, but that was it. It was just a little tweak at them for constantly attacking "Hollyweird" then falling all over themselves for an actor.
ETA: lol...just realized I did what I was accusing you of doing. I thought you were referring to my comments about Reagan, but upon re-reading realized you said the way they "were" condemned, so you were probably referring back to 1980, right? If so...my sincere apologies.
And if Affleck should for some reason choose to come to his wife's home state to run for office, I would be the first in line to volunteer for his campaign. I have been flat out amazed at how well he communicates his beliefs and how intelligent he truly is. Between his personality, his politics, and his public appeal, he would be a candidate I could easily support.![]()

I was referring to the 80's, not you. I completely agree with the current situation. They bash hollywood actors and now they're running to one because everyone else they've got is a loser. I haven't really looked at Thompson on the issues yet, so I can't really say how I feel about him. I would need to see how he voted when he was in the Senate.
I saw Affleck on Bill Maher the other night and he really was good. He would probably do very well in MA if he ran for Senate.
