I know I saw this question asked before, but couldn't find the answer. Does anyone know if this qualifies as an ice cream treat?

I was told no when we went, but I think that is the part in this plan where it seems like who is working that day may make a difference.

Tried to get it as a snack twice last week...they said no :(
But it was still yummy anyway~~

I tried to get it asa snack last week too and was told no, but nothing can keep me away from that delectable dessert. MMMMM Dole Whip foodgasm

LOL I see so many people mentioning this infamous Dole Whip.... but I have no idea what it is or where to try it.... please let me in on this secret, cos' you all make it sound delicious and unmissable LOL!

Best wishes,
Gaspodé

I tried the Dole whip a couple years ago, because my favorite treat place was closed for refurbishment. Let's just say, I am looking forward to my usual treat place being open in October when I'm there. I was NOT impressed with the Dole Whips and I much prefer the Citrus Swirls from the stand outside the exit of the Tiki Room. They are frozen orange juice swirled w/vanilla ice cream. Delicious!

OK, now I'm confused.......I've been calling the citrus swirl a Dole Whip!!!!!!
Someone please educate me. I've had the citrus swirls in orange (by the Tiki room), pineapple (across from the treehouse) and strawberry (near the tea cups). What, pray tell, is a Dole Whip now?

I'm now confused as well!

Here's a link to a picture and a story about where you can get it at mouseplant.com.

The Dole Whip is pineapple and across from the treehouse, if I remember right. The Citrus Swirl is the orange juice/vanilla ice cream outside the exit for the Tiki Room. It's the Sunshine Tree Terrace. It's our family tradition to go to the Tiki Room and then have the citrus swirl on the way out! YUM.

Dole whips are pineapple soft serve ice cream available at Aloha Isle which is right by the Swiss family Robinson tree House in Adventureland.... I always order mine with half pineapple and half chocolate...yummmmmmy, you can also have it with vanilla or a make it a float with pineapple juice.

OK, now I've got it........so if the Dole Whip is just the pineapple portion, I've actually been having a Dole whip citrus swirl!

ISNT THERE A DOLE WHIP FLOAT OR SOMETHING? I THINK I READ ITS THE DOLE WHIP IN PINAPPLE JUICE. IS THIS CORRECT? ::MickeyMo

My husband and I have been talking about the orange one since we took a trip back in 1996; then we forgot about it with our hectic first trip with the kids. (we talked about it to them to our girls and as soon as we got home, said... :confused3 oh no, we forgot to get them!)

So this year, we keep reminding ourselves to get this amazing, wonderful, refreshing treat! :cloud9:

thanks for the reminder on where to get these awesome treats!!!

I found out about the Dole Whip on these boards a few months ago, around January or so. wanted to try them SO badly...Then i went to Disneyworld in June and finally got a chance to try it...

WOW :goodvibes

It was AMAZING!! Im not even a big fan of pineapple, in general, but the flavor and texture worked SO well with the ice cream. I had another one (my second one) 3 hours later after dinner :)

Its skyrocketed to near the top of my favorite "treats" list of Disney food (which is basically top of my overall favorites list) along with frozen lemonade and most fudges from the Main Street fudge shoppe :)

P.S. I actually made a list of snacks i wanted to try, thanks to suggestions from this board: ALL of the suggested snacks were AMAZING! With the Dole Whip and Kaki-Gori being the top two new favorites :)

well, on last tuesday, we went to get our citrus swirls...

I ordered four, one for each of us. we sat down to enjoy them, only to find that my dh and I were the only one enjoying them!! I was shocked that my kids did not like them... I took a photo of my yummy treat, and my dd 8, she is in the background making the 'I hate this' face! (obviously, I did not raise her right!!! :rotfl2:
