Can the Cast Members see if your calling from your room for the Bounceback rate?

I realize that the Bounceback rate is only meant to be reserved while you are currently at WDW and needs to be done before you check-out. However what doesn't stop someone from writting down the phone number listed on the sheet and the reservation code you tell the Cast Member over the phone, to try call for a Bounceback reservation once they are no longer at WDW. So when you call the number listed on the sheet which is 407-541-5516 or extension that is also listed which is 8844, can the Cast Member on the phone see you are actully calling from your resort room? Now I realize calling the extension from your cell phone wouldn't work, but if someone called the regular phone number I listed could they make a brand new reservation with the Bounceback code when they are not at WDW?

Don't they verify your "current" reservation and look that up to see if you would indeed qualify? If not, they should.......

I called from my cell phone at AKL to book a bounceback, but they did verify that we were still checked into the room (or said they did - we were still in the room, so I didn't question it ;)).

I was going to call from the car once on my check-out day and I think I could have still gotten it - I don't think you have to be in the room, but it had to be done by check-out (and I'm betting they would let you do it even if it was past check-out time on the same day).

last year I literally went from checking my luggage with ME to the desk to book the bounceback & was told that since I had just checked out that I didn't qualify. However, I questioned this (I thought it was ridiculous actually) & she called a supervisor that gave me another # to call anytime before midnight. I booked from the airport while we were waiting to go home.

Yes, they did with me in Feb for a bounceback that I called from the room with the extention. I didn't have the res. number with me since in past years they did not ask for it (nor does it state that in the offer) Anyway, the CM on the phone said they were calling the front desk at WL to check the number. I don't know if they did or not but I was on hold for about 5 minutes. My daughter in Feb (different room) called and booked the bounceback as well, and they didn't ask for her current res. number so who knows!! My daughter called a different day than I did. We did receive an email in regard to the bounceback while there as well. (all the same rules just an email.)

I've always booked my bouncebacks from the room (I've booked three altogether) so I've dialed the extension. They always ask my full name, resort name, and room number - so either they can't see it, or they can see it and want to be sure it's me. But either way, they've always asked. I've made bouncebacks while staying at BLT, CR, and FW, so they weren't even from the same resort. I'm guessing that if they have a way to lookup current guest info, and you give them your name and a room number, and you aren't registered to that room, you won't be able to book the bounceback.

Last month when we made our Bounceback reservation for this December at the Boardwalk they never asked any of those questions. Now originally we booked the Bounceback rate for the Contemporary for a Tower Bay Lake View however then switched to the Garden Suites at the Boardwalk and then switched again to the Standard Club Level Room at the Boardwalk which is what we currently have, but I do know for a fact the Cast Members on the phone never asked to make sure we were still staying onsite all the times we called when those reservations were confirmed.

I booked FD bounceback twice from the room and I STILL had to provide my ressie #. Once when I couldn't find it in my paperwork I was on hold forever while they tried to validate the fact that I was still checked in. So yes, they do check.---Kathy

This was back in February, but I called (after I checked out) from the airport with my reservation number. No problem! And now, WL in 40 days! :cool1::banana:

sometimes! See my post #6. They bugged me like you and my daughter (in another room and the next day) they just booked!!

Last year I booked a bounceback from POP and they did verify our reservation.

When I've done it, they have always made me wait while they find me in the system to make sure I'm currently staying at a WDW resort. One year they could not find me and would not let me book. I was in my DVC resort and I'm guessing there was something going on with the DVC database. I did call back a couple of days later and they were able to find me this time. I also booked my FD last year for this month and again, they had to locate me in the database and confirm that I was currently staying there. Both times I called from the room phone. For the time they could not find me, it was very frustrating. The CM kept saying, I don't show you currently staying in a WDW resort -- but I was sitting right there on the phone at BWV and couldn't understand why she couldn't see that on the caller ID.

Two years ago, I booked while sitting on a bench in MK while my family was in Hall of Presidents! I'm sure lots of people were giving me the stink eye about being on the phone instead of enjoying my vacation. :rotfl:

BTW, yes, they did verify my resort confirmation number.

I called from the Contemporary and they said they had to verify my current reservation and it would help them if I had the confirmation number. I had the number, and CRO was able to pull up my records to verify my current reservation.

We've called several times using our cell phone after we were technically "checked out." Last time I booked bounceback I used the CL lounge phone, again after I'd checked out of the room. Every time though it's been the same day we checked out.

Everytime they did verify my reservation (the one that was just completed), so I think that's what they use to confirm you qualify for BB offer, not what phone you are physically using.

I've also been directed to use the same number when calling to inquire about our existing BB reservation.

I know this goes a little beyond what you are asking, but...

You get some small window after you get home to modify your BB reservation. You can always cancel up to 45 days out, but you can't rebook to a different resort - at least I was told I couldn't change it, and it was still more than 45days out, because the offer had expired. (even though I had been told I had until 45 days out - I think.) I think it's just like other discounts which are only offered for a certain time - only with BB offers you aren't clearly told what that window is. (or at least the handy webites I use don't tell me. ;) ) Previously, we booked the Free Dining BB offer, and had quite a longer amount of time to modify it. The reason I add this is because you MAY have reason to call that number after you get home.

I called from CSR two years ago, and the CM asked my name and then read back my reservation information to me, asking me to verify it. She knew which room I was calling from.

we booked our bounceback rate from home -- we had a very early flight on our checkout day, and I called that afternoon from my home phone. They verified the reservation and then we booked the bounceback! easy peasy :)

I can see why you would be able to use any phone anywhere, as long as you are still checked in. If you were able to do it after check out, they were letting it slide. If you can use dining credits that don't expire until midnight the day you check out, I don't see why the same logic would apply to bounce back. However, I wouldn't think it's fair to try to bend the rules and try to book after checkout day. Bounce back was created to be a perk for people still in the system, otherwise it wouldn't be a bounce back. Just my opinion.

Well what happens if a Deluxe Room at the Boardwalk becomes available with our dates with the Annual Pass rates or the Fall/Winter room only promotion, would be allowed to switch our Boardwalk Standard Room Club Level that we got as a Bounceback rate to either one of those promotions? Should we want to switch our reservation again that would be the only room we would consider trying to get.
