Can the BWV studio that sleeps 5 be guaranteed?

We have 3 kids (9,7 and 5). We would only be at WDW for a few days following a cruise, and am considering renting points. But...it, unfortunately would involve a Friday and Saturday overnight, so I know to rent points for a one or two bedroom would be a lot of $. I didn't know if those BWV studios that sleep 5 could be a guarantee or only a request. If it's only a request, then I assume I wouldn't be allowed to book a studio since I have 5 people (?). Thanks for your input! :)

The dedicated studios, the ones that have a "Deacon's bench" are not a guarantee.

I'm not sure. Why don't you ask a member who has points for rent to check for you?

Here's a picture of the daybed. It is already made up with sheets under the top cover.

MS will not accept a reservation for more than 4 for a studio unless the 5th is an infant under the age of 3. A portable crib (Pac 'n Play) is provided for the infant.

MS will accept a reservation for 5 for a 1 bedroom. However, no additonal bedding is provided. The 1 bedrooms have a king bed in the bedroom and a queen sleep sofa in the living room.

FWIW, renting points for a Friday or Saturday night stay is seldom (virtually never) a bargain. Most times, you can do better renting directly from Disney.

Best wishes -

yes MS in Dec told me 4 people and a child under 3 .not allowed to be 3

Four in a studio is crowded. I don't think you would really want to put five anyways. We are a family of 3 and 1/2 and we have "graduated" to staying in one bedrooms this year for comfort and space (heaven knows I need a bunch of it right now).

Consider booking your trip so the weekend is on one of the ends. Your first two or last two days there. Then stay at another resort on cash. It's a pain to move, but it will save you hundreds of dollars whether paying cash for the room or renting points. Then you can get a 1 bedroom for the remaining time you are there. We often do this ourselves.

Until a couple of years ago the studio plus was a separate booking cat and thus it could be "guaranteed" And they would thus allow some flexibility to the party ages for 5 people in that unit.

We're not going to be in WDW during the week...we're on the Disney Wonder from Sun-Thurs so I was just looking for a room for 3 nights (Thur - Sun). Thanks for all your thoughts! :)

I was able to book a studio for 5 at BWV this summer. It lists the 'studio plus daybed' as a request (so it is possible we won't get it). I asked if we could bring an air mattress as a back up and MS said no problem. I then asked, "So it won't be a problem having 5 in the room?" and MS said that was fine.

Maybe I was just lucky. I don't know. The youngest in our group that is using this room is 5 years old. I don't know if there is an age cut off.

You could always check and see. This is the first time we have ever tried this option. We only have 4 in our family, but we are taken extended family and there are 5 in their group so that is why we had to book a room with a daybed for them.

Good Luck!

It's just a request. No guarantee. When my daughter was 4 we had one, and it was too uncomfortable for her to sleep on. It's a bench with a cushion...not what you would call a bed.

LOL! We had a room like this last year and I did not even realize that the top cover came off and there was a place to sleep underneth. My DD insisted on sleeping on it and we just threw a sheet over the top cover! How funny!!

I didn't realize there were sheets on it either when we had one of these rooms (we didn't use it for a bed at that time). It's good to know this for this summer when my DNephew actually uses it! I told them to bring hiim a sleeping bag and pillow, so he is set (he could sleep on the floor for that matter, he doesn't really care where he is sleeping! He just wants to go to Disney World!).
