Can someone tell me what a 'konk kooler' is?

I didn't think they served them in the "conch shells" anymore. Does that cost extra?

The plastic conch shell was a few dollars more than the one in the plastic cup.

Yummy!!!! I want one now at 8:20 am. I have 12 more days before I can taste one.

I'm doing the Disney Happy Dance

I had my Konk Kooler in a plastic coconut. It cost a couple dollars more but it was just too cute.

and these are supposed to come in 'virgin' also? Wonder if they are as good, I want my daughter to try one! princess:

That's a great idea, since you want your daughter to experience everything you do. After all, this trip is for her, right?

It's my absolute most favorite drink on the cruise.

I haven't seen the conch shell cups in ages. The latest version of souvenir cup that it comes in is the plastic coconut that Miss Jasmine mentioned.

A very unique souvenir cup that we noticed at CC in September were carved coconut shells. They were hinged with the drink inside. They caught DH's eye, but he never got around to getting one. (Which is fine with me. They were pretty big and I don't know if I'd want a coconut head staring at me in the morning.;) )

Chatty Kathy, you should be able to get a virgin version of this. I hope that your DD enjoys it.:D

TY gometros, and yes she will experience what she can, she has many limits....and yes, this trip is for Alyssa.

I will certainly make sure I get her a 'virgin' drink Regina, I'm sure she'll love it! Thanks again!

Kath :cutie:

The only souvenir cups it was in on Nov 6 cruise was a CC cup with straw and lid. Nice souvenir, but not a coconut! It is my favorite drink also. It is frozen and premade so they cannot leave anything out, at least on CC. They can give you the virgin one or the regular one though, as they have two different batches made up.

You will love it. I make it at home now.

WHAT IS A CONCH (KONK) COOLER???
Well you take Norm and me (who are conchs) and remove the heat of Florida and bring in "cooler" weather - and you have 2 KONK COOLERS :teeth: - and we are an awesome couple :wave2: :wave2:
LOL
and LOL
Always

Shirley ~

I think you n Norm are a couple of 'Kool Konks' myself..LOL!

For anyone who hasn't tried a 'Konk Kooler', it is a must do on Castaway!
Hubby and I have some fond memories of sharing a KK on the beach. :love2:

perdidobay - we tried your recipe this summer and it was very close to the original but there was something missing... Could it be Castaway Cay?? Now if they could only bottle it!

I don't know if it was the best drink I ever had or the best place to have any drink!! This is a must try!! They definately come with out alchohol because DS and DD each had 2 on CC!

Yes, it was the sand beneath your feet on Castaway Cay that was missing::yes::
It makes any drink MUCH better :sunny:
I think the best konk koolers I have had are on days other than CC day, because on that day they are premade in a frozen drink machine. I guess because they are the special of the day. On other days they have to mix one up from "almost" scratch. I remember the look I got from the bartender at the adult pool bar when I asked for one on the first day of the cruise...he said " I see you have sailed with us before!" :smooth:

I agree with you perdidobay, I think that the best Konk Koolers that I've had I've gotten on the ship. They've been more frozen, the ones I've had on the island are usually more watery since theyre premade.
However there's nothing like drinking one on CC! I dream about them all year long!
