Can someone tell me about the steak at Rose and Crown?

I love steak, but was kind of put off by the description in the menu -- simply "grilled steak" with no mention of the cut of meat or the spices or anything. What came to mind was the cheap overcooked pieces of meat my mother (otherwise a wonderful cook BTW) would serve when we were kids. Those "steaks" were the reason I always thought I didn't like steak until about 5 years ago when I tried again.

Anyway, can anyone tell me more about this steak and whether I should think about ordering it?

The food is very good. I didn't have the steak, but I had the Bangers and Mash. No one complained about their food in our party, including my sister, who did order the steak.

If you are really interested in a good steak, then I'd go someplace else. At R&C, stick to the standard pub fare that they specialize in and you won't be disappointed.

I love the food at Rose and Crown, but unfortunately, not the steak!! Stick to Le Cellier or places that specialize in steak for your steak dinners. Their pub meals are great though, mushroom ragout, beef stew, shepherd's pie, pies etc are yummy.
