Can someone tell me about SSR?

Was able to take advantage of the uprade from Pop the SSR. I would like to know any and all information someone would be willing to share:

Are there any slides at the pools?
What is the food like at the counter service location?
Is there housekeeping?
What should I expect in general?

etc.

Thanks

From doing a little research after being upgarded too, this is what I found out.
1. Yes there is a big and small slide at the main pool.
The counter service is small and limited nothing like the values I hoping more like Roaring Forks at WL.
Yes because we are resort guests and not DVC members there is housekeeping for us.
I know the resort is spread out with 5 bus stops, some quiet pools and very clost to DTD.

I would love some more information also.:thumbsup2

Is there any place for kids to play basketball?

Thanks for the thread! We are all so excited! Only 2 months away too!
AAAHHHhhhhhh!

Is there a bus that stops at each building to take you to the parks?

Is there anything else I should consicer bringing that I wouldnt bring to the All Stars?

Coffee, cream and sugar? Are they replaced by housekeeping?
Towels? Should I bring more?
Bikes? Do they rent the 4 person bikes? How much are they?

Water mice? Wieght limit and how much?

not at each building but each area, there are 5 bus stops.

No

Housekeeping will replace supplies since you are a Cash guest.

No need for extra towels.

they rent bikes, I do not know the cost.

No water mice, you can rent them at Downtown Disney.

We stayed at SSR in Dec. unfortunatley, we did not get the chance to go swimming, it was to cold, but from what I remember they do have a slide at the main pool, and a children's play area that was really cute. The food at Artists Palet was pretty good for breakfast it was pretty standard stuff and for dinner they have things like flat breads and stuff like that. The grounds there are beautiful, we loved it! our room (studio) overlooked DD ( we were in Congress Park room # 1814 if I remember correctly) and it was like a 10 min. walk over to Marketplace, so if you dont like the food at Artist Palet at least thats another option for you. All in all we really loved SSR and we will stay there again!!

Bummer! I just called and we don't have one of these (staying at PC in July for five days).

Congrats to those of you who did get it! SSR is a lovely resort. We haven't stayed there, but we visited and it is very nice.

Have a great trip!

No, the upgrades were only offered for guests arriving the week of 8/26 - 9/01, not in July. But POP is a lot of fun too!

Oh! I see! Oh well, we will stay at SSR eventually with points. We just don't have enough points for this trip, so we get to visit PC. We are looking forward to it. Can't wait for the unlimited Frozen Cokes on the mug program!

Have a great time at SSR everyone! Make sure you check out their activites. We were pool hopping there last year (was staying on points at BWV) and they had the kids make their own ice cream by the pool with Disney shopping bags! It was so much fun! It is a nice resort!

The grounds are really beautiful and the pool area is fun. I love it that there is a place in there we can get milk and stuff.:)

I read on the DVC board that they are showing movies at night by one of the pools. That sounds so cool!

Go over to the DVC board and you will find a lot of great info and pictures on SSR.

Those of you who got upgraded are going to have a great vacation (Just be careful---you may find yourself buying into DVC ;) ......we have 150 points and love it! But we always run out of points.....thus the reason we are PC this time :hippie: ).
