Can someone tell me about Mickey Mania?

Though we've been on 2 cruises on the Wonder, we've never done Mickey Mania. I had heard that they only choose families to participate and I was wondering if it was worth it to drag the kids out of the club/lab to do it....
Can anyone give me details and descriptions of what goes on?

It's a basic game show type thing. I think they pick 3 or 4 pairs of people (one grown up, one kid). They do Disney trivia in the first round, guess the character (pictures that are scrambled and slowly get unscrambled) in the 2nd. I can't remember if there was a 3rd. If you win, you get a medal and I think a DCL mug.

DH and DD were picked for Walk the plank, which is similar but for every question missed, you go further down the plank. DD dunked DH pretty quickly. They got a coin for that one.

They pick four pairs of parents and their children, the kids always have a blast.
In addition to tkd lisa's post, they do have a third round in which they magnetized maps of EPCOT and the contestants have to identify where each country is located.

DD and I were picked to play on last years Wonder trip. We had disney trivia--like what's the tallest mountain in FLA, etc. Then the next round was "what happens next" where clips from films were played. Can't remember what the 3rd round was. We had to wear Goofy hats. I think it would have been more fun if our console was working properly (now doesn't that sound like sour grapes, but truly it wasn't working correctly)

The third round of Mickey Mania is to unscramble the character...they show a Disney character on the monitor and it is all scrambled...slowly it comes into focus and the one who hits the buzzer first and correctly identifies the character...wins that round!!

My wife and son were Mickey Mania winners on our last cruise. They were chosen from the audience by screaming their heads of to get the hostess attention. It was great fun for all. They were awarded medals and Mickey Mania coins.
