i started on effexor, thought i couldn't get that at the discounted price( my spend down for medicaid went way up so basically i'm self pay now so use a discount drug card) so the dr switched me to lexapro...itried it for 3 weeks, it helped with the depression but it made me sweat so bad my hair was literally wringing wet and sweat dripped down my neck ...in air conditioning, sitting on the couch.... :rolleyes1 so he switched me again to zoloft but this doesn't seem to be doing as much with the depression( not suicidal like before but just that numb kind of /ready to cry feeling i had before i started the effexor)..i've only been on the zoloft for about a week but he didn't wean off the lexapro so have been on something straight since about a month ago...and the sweating is still here although not quite as bad. so any ideas if this is normal or not...how long i need to give the zoloft to see if it working, if the sweating will stop etc .

I was told by my doctor to give Zoloft 2 weeks for it to really take effect and for any side effects to "work their way out". I did have an upset stomach for about 10 days, but that MAY have been due to the stress I had incurred at the time.

Best of luck!

thanks, funny i had been a little queasy but kind of thought it was just one of those things..hopefully the sweating will subside and the stuff will work better.
