I am looking for the site that tells what the attendance at parks has been in the past over the course of a year-- meaning which months have heaviest traffic etc-- I know I want to go in the fall- NOT for a holiday but perhaps in late October or November-- but I want to avoid ANY major events that will be going on etc

I pretty sure Disney does not post park (monthly) attendance figures, but this may help you:

The attendance trends at the parks follow the following patterns. Keep in mind that special events may influence attendance levels (ie., FoodandWine Festival - Oct [Epcot], MNSSHP- Oct [MK], etc)

Lowest Attendance:
- January (except New Year's Day) until just prior to Presidents' week in February
- The week following Labor Day until just prior to Thanksgiving week
- The week following Thanksgiving until the week prior to Christmas

Moderate Attendance:
- After Presidents' week in February through early March
- Late April through early June (except Memorial Day weekend)
- The first part of Thanksgiving week

Highest Attendance:
- Presidents' week in February
- Mid-March through Late April ("Spring Break")
- Memorial Day weekend
- Mid-June through Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day and weekend
- Christmas week through New Year's Day

while I dont know where hard numbers are, you can check out the Official Guide my Birnbaum's or the Unofficial Guide Im pretty sure has it too- a bar graph that shows when attendence is up or down.

You can also view the dates, listed under the rates when at the disney world site, anything in "value" season is typically going to be low crowds, but not always the most desireable weather,

depending when you want to go. Early November is a good time, or the week after Thanksgiving.
