DH & I are taking DD (2.5) on her first trip in November. SOO EXCITED :cheer2:. I know I went a little heavy on the character meals, but She LOVES Minnie, Mickey and Belle. Also, she is under 3 so we wont get charged for her at the buffets and family style meals (correct?). DH is a little picky otherwise I would have picked something a little more exciting like Saana. Here is my list so far.. Thoughts?

Cinderella's Royal Table (Breakfast - fingers crossed not a big deal if we dont get it)
Akershus (Dinner)
Chef Mickey (Dinner)
Cape May (Dinner) (*this will be my husband's bday and he does love seafood)
Liberty Tree Tavern
1900 Park Fare (Dinner)
Mama Melrose (Dinner)
Ohana (Breakfast) *tradition for me on the last day

The new ones for me will be Akershus (which i am a little nervous about but it has Belle), Liberty Tree, CRT & 1900 Park Fare.

Thanks!

You are correct that you will not be charged for her at buffets and family style meals. I don't think 6 character meals is too much at all. We went to 5 on our last trip and my toddler loved it. Some of the characters will be repetitive, but at that age, kids love repetition.

I can't really comment specifically on your choices as I haven't been to any of them except for CRT and Ohana and both were at dinner with a totally different menu.

Cinderella's Royal Table (Breakfast - fingers crossed not a big deal if we dont get it) - Never done (though with a DD1, it's coming)
Akershus (Dinner) - Disappointed in food; not bad, just disappointed in food. Characters are fine.
Chef Mickey (Dinner) - good
Cape May (Dinner) (*this will be my husband's bday and he does love seafood) - good
Liberty Tree Tavern - GREAT, particularly for your picky DH
1900 Park Fare (Dinner) - GREAT
Mama Melrose (Dinner) - meh. If you have park hopper, do trattoria al forno or something close to HS.
Ohana (Breakfast) *tradition for me on the last day - GREAT, but you already know that!

I can only comment on Cape May dinner and Ohana breakfast. Cape May was awesome I felt. I live in a city where seafood is hard to come by, so this was a treat. The dinner items were all very good, but the desserts at Cape May buffet were a little lacking. But I don't remember having really good desserts at any of the buffets. Ooh, they had a really good cheese on their buffet too that I couldn't get enough of. It was a drunken goat cheese if I remember correctly.

Ohana breakfast was good. Not blow me away good, but my son getting to meet all the characters really put a huge smile on his face. That was worth it to me alone.

I like all of your restaurants but I did have one small suggestion. Instead of dinner at Mama Melrose book a late lunch with the fantasmic ticket package. The seats you get for this are very nice and you can do the early fantasmic package.

Quick question - can you book the fantasmic package online (through the app) or do you have to phone to make the reservation?

(Sorry to interrupt thread - just curious as one on my list)

I had to call it in, they use to do dinner as well but it seems that the package is lunch only now.

Here's my feedback/2 cents worth:

Cinderella's Royal Table (Breakfast - fingers crossed not a big deal if we dont get it) - With a daughter your age, I think this is a no brainer, she will love it. I enjoyed our breakfast there, nothing earth shattering, but solidly good.

Akershus (Dinner) - I have not done this one, but if you have a Princess lover than I'd say go for it. As an alternative, if you don't want 2 princess meals, I highly recommend Garden Grill, it is by far our favourite character meal on property.

Chef Mickey (Dinner) - Only have done breakfast here and the food is mediocre, but you can't beat this for the atmosphere and being able to meet the Fab 5.

Cape May (Dinner) (*this will be my husband's bday and he does love seafood) - Breakfast here is amazing, have not tried dinner yet but read so many good things about it. Good choice for your seafood loving hubby.

Liberty Tree Tavern - This is a solid choice for MK. Both breakfast and dinner have been good experiences for us.

1900 Park Fare (Dinner) - A nice buffet and the step sisters are a riot.

Mama Melrose (Dinner) - Our one meal here was good and overall an enjoyable experience. Our go to at HS is Sci-Fi though, so we rarely have a 2nd TS to get back to Mama Melrose.

Ohana (Breakfast) *tradition for me on the last day - This was always our last day tradition as well! Until I switched it up last year because we were always crying through our Ohana breakfast because we were leaving lol. After Garden Grill, this is my next fave character meal.

We had lunch at LTT in December and it was great. You can order off an a la carte menu if you don’t want the all you can eat platter (which is the only option at dinner I think). Very tasty and a nice break in the park.

I think all these are great choices. The only thing I would consider is whether it's too dinner heavy. My kids were 2 and 3 the first time we went, and we also chose a lot of character meals. What we didn't think about is that dinner isn't really their thing. They're tired and don't always eat well. I don't know why we thought it'd be any different at Disney. And then we made the same mistake for the 2nd trip, which resulted in me dragging my daughter out of 1900 Park Fare mid meltdown. At least it happened after all the meet-and-greets. Your daughter may be a dinner kind of kid, in which case, no problem. We know our kids are breakfast eaters, but didn't think about that when making reservations. We've learned our lesson and made only a couple of dinner reservations for our next trip.

I have tried several of these and the only one I did not really care for was Mama Melrose. I thought it was just ok, nothing really bad and nothing really good. Have you tried Sci-Fi? That is our favorite DS sitdown eatery. We love the burgers and shakes.

If your daughter is into characters, I think she will have a ball. Be sure to get lots of pictures.
I would agree with trying to do a late lunch at Mama Melrose with the fantasmic package if you can. Frequently, the dinner package starts about 4:30. Then you can do a later snack for the evening .
