I've never booked at the 11-month window before, but I'd like to try to do so for next Thanksgiving and XMas. How do I do this? If the first date I want to book is, say, Nov. 26th, does that mean that the 26th of this month is my 11-month window? Do I try to book day-by-day? DH said that he was interested in a boardwalk view 1-BDR at BWV, but I'm afraid that that may be tough to come by if I don't try to book day by day. Then again, if I do, is there any guarantee that I will get the boardwalk view for every day of the trip just because I got it for the first day? I hope I'm making sense.

Also, I may want to waitlist for XMas...it's my understanding that I book at the 11-month window at my home resort (BWV) to ensure that I have a reservation somewhere, and then I can waitlist for another resort at 7 months out. Am I correct? Thanks.

The first day you could call would be December 27 for the night of next year's November 26 because the check out date is the 27th. I would call day by day for Thanksgiving Boardwalk view. I had to this past year. Just tell MS on the first day what you plan on doing. They are very helpful and understanding.

For Christmas next year, do exactly what you say. Book the Boadwalk at 11 months and then at 7 call to switch. You may be surprised that something is still available at the 7 month window. This year quite a bit was still available well after the 7 month window opened. If it's not available, then you can waitlist for what you want.

Have fun planning.

You book 11 months from your check out date. It is rare you have to do it any other way. To your second question, you can book at home resort 11 months then at 7 month try to change it if you wish.

DH and I looked at the points chart last night and revised our plans, LOL! I wish that we had the points to do this, but we just don't. I had no clue that a 1 BDR cost 75 points on XMas Eve! So much for that idea...

Does anyone know if there would be code rates for Disney hotel rooms available for XMas time next year? Is that a common occurance, or are the holidays usually rack-rate all the way? We're now wondering if we should rent out the points and pay cash to stay in a different WDW hotel. That would probably work out better, given the incredibly high points cost.

There are usually no codes between Christmas and New Year's.

Maybe you can save some points by doing a studio instead of the 1BR? By doing that and maybe even cutting back on one of the weekends, you would seem to have plenty of points. Also with the ability of booking at 11 months, what about getting a standard view room to save even more points?

Thanksgiving Boardwalk view is one of those "rare" occasions.
