Can someone please explain the "studio plus" at BWV? Do all DVC resorts have some of these available? What are the stats (number of these available)? If you want one, do you request "studio plus", or would the CM's have NO idea what you're talking about? I can find nothing about this in my literature.

TIA,

The studio plus is the same size and pretty much the same layout as the regular studios, except that they have a 5 foot long daybed located where a connecting door would be next to the armoire. It is suitable for a small child. The pad on it was pretty thin, not what I would consider a mattress. For us, since we didn't need the extra sleeping space, it just made the room feel crowded.

Here's a link to Melody's great shot of the daybed.

The BWV Daybed

The studio plus can't be reserved -- it's just luck of the draw if you get one. They are dedicated studios, Boardwalk is the only resort that has this option available.

I agree that if I didn't need it to sleep on, it would make the room feel crowded. Seems like a good place for suitcases if you don't need it for sleeping though.

Thank so much!!! I appreciate it...it clears up a lot!!

Closer to 4 feet long than 5 feet long. Our son was 4 when he attempted to sleep on this (we only had the three of us and thought it would be great for husband and I to get to sleep together for a change. It was not to be. He hated sleeping on the luggage rack.

Can't say that I blame him. I think DVC was stretching things to say this was a "daybed".

My then 8 year old DD trieds sleeping on one of them once. She couldn't make it the whole night. We used to stay at the Poly and the BC that had real day beds. This isn't one.

The Poly and Contemporary do not have daybeds they have an actual twin bed that they call a day bed! They are wonderful when you have a DD & DS, believe me--they were a godsend for us many times over the years!
YC/BC has more of a normal daybed. Smaller than the twin bed at the Poly and Contemporary and a little tight for a tall teenager, but definitely do able.
BWV's daybeds--------well the only way to put it,--they are a joke!
They do make a convenient spot to sit while putting on your socks and sneakers though, LOL!

Very true, not only in size but in the difference in the mattresses too. The beds at the Polynesian and Contemporary are a regular twin bed mattress where the ones the YC/BC/ BWI and Grand Floridian are more of a bunk kind or mat.
