Can someone please explain FOTL access?

Is staying onsite worth it to get FOTL access? Do you get access to all attractions at all times or only certain attractions and certain times of the day? Does US/IOA offer something similiar to FastPass? Also, we will be going the week before Memorial Day, is it a necessity to have FOTL access due to crowds during this time?

I stayed onsite for 1 night, and let me tell you, even though the parks were not that busy, it wa definately worth every penny to stay on site. The hotels were so close (never had to fight in the traffic in the parking lots - took only 5 minutes to walk to USO) and the perks of always getting on the rides so quickly definately made it worth it. That meant that I could get onto the mummy as many times as I wanted instead of having to wait in line with all the rest of the people. SO WORTH IT!
You can also purchase FOTL access passes from the ticket windows, but this only allows you to get FOTL once for every ride. I really didn't think this was really worth the extra $20, but then again, it also depends on what time of year you are going. You are going on a buy weekend, and it may be worth it if you are not staying on site.

Does US/IOA offer something similiar to FastPass?

Yes they do. You can only get one "fast pass" at a time, and it is in an alloted time frame that you can choose from - usually within 1 - 2 hours of the time you get the pass.

lso, we will be going the week before Memorial Day, is it a necessity to have FOTL access due to crowds during this time?

I know that that is one of the busier weekends, so to save the stress, I think it would be worth it to get the passes or stay on site.
