Could anyone offer any advice on what time we should arrive to the parking lot at MK to be at the gates before rope drop?We are staying offsite and don't know how much time it will take for us to get from parking area to the gate and also how far in advance do you advise us to be at the gates before opening?
Any advice is appreciated we will be arriving in Florida this Saturday.

Hey we arrive Friday!!! Lucky us, huh? :goodvibes

Ok, as a general rule, you want to leave 45 min to an hour before you want to enter the parks. If you need to purchase tickets then make that at least an hour.

Where are you staying?

eta: Actually, being the time of year it is I would definitely say an hour. If you need tickets then more time. We will be at MK on MOnday. Can't wait!

We were there last week and left an hour early for RD. We were very close to the rope (would have been at the rope if we had decided just a little bit earlier to go to the rope rather then be in the middle to see the Opening Ceremony). In the end we were very close to the rope and got to see the opening from where we were standing.

As a general rule -- if you arrive in the lot 45 minutes beforehand, you will make it to the gates before rope drop -- monorails/boats are running quickly that early to maximize the time they can get your dollars:)

I'd plan on arriving a little earlier if you plan on getting to the lot, and then taking the monorail or boats. The queue fills up, too!

We are staying at Bluegreens The Fountain Resort in a 2bed/2 bath unit.

And yes I am a little fearful of the crowds but decided to just go with it I have only been in November when crowds weren't bad before Thanksgiving so this should be a real experience;):goodvibes

We already purchased tickets through Orbitz. We will go to DD to exchange the vouchers for tickets on arrival day because we are not going to parks that day and won't have to waste valuable morning time doing it at the park.

And our 1st day at MK is on Sunday:scared1: but it is DS,DDIL and DGS's first trip so of course we have to start at MK. Sending pixiedust: that both of our trips are wonderful!

Oh that place looks nice. :) Love the pool area.

Just a heads up on DTD.....I'm sure you know but in case you don't....their parking lot is like half gone so it is a total mess over there right now. Not sure what we are going to do. I'm hoping Bonnet creek has a shuttle that goes there and back in the evening. I wasn't going to worry about finding out until we get there. But it's either that or maybe at taxi. I really don't want to have to worry about parking.

Good luck to you too!! Just keep taking deep breaths when faced with the crowds. :goodvibes

I got to MK at 8:15am last week. It was crowd level 6-7 so seemed busy.

On Monday this week (4/7) I arrived at the TTC parking lot at 745a, was at front of line at MK gate by 800a, at 815am they let us through to the plaza for the RD event, which was at 845am, then 5 minutes later into main street as far as the entrance to a land where we were held until release at 9am.

The other advantage with being there before the RD event was that there were plenty of CMs with tablets to assist with booking or changing FP+ and other help.

We will be taking Disney transportation from AKL... I know it's much farther away than many of the other resorts, and I'm hoping we can be on the first bus out in the morning.... but is this early enough? Will we get there by RD?
