Hey guys! I went to best buy today to feel a few dlsr's and although I liked the d90 the best, my hand felt stretched holding the grip. Could someone measure from the inside of the grip to the back for me? If anyone has a d5000 or d60, I would be curious to see the difference or if it is my imagination. I have very small hands and think a "tight" grip might get uncomfortable even if I like the camera better.Holding my hand like an "L" and measuring from my thumb through the curve to the tip of my pointer is 6.5 inches. I know this is a bizarre request so thanks in advance!!!!

Did you try a Canon XSi or 50/40D?

I didn't, but I was in a hurry as I was on my way to pick up my dd from a friends house. Are they smaller grips?:confused3

The Canon XSi is smaller. However, I am asking because I too have pretty darn small hands. I actually found the 40D and 50D to be the most comfortable. I felt the same thing you did that the D90 felt like the grip "pulled" too much. I felt the 40D and 50D were more "ergonomic" to me. So, even though they are larger cameras, I'd give them a try to see if they are more comfortable to hold.
