I realize that in light of events unfolding down South as we speak, my situation is downright trivial compared to what thousands of people are going through. With that in mind, I apologize for asking this in advance, but I do want to be prepared. The intellectual side of me says that the following won't happen, but I'd be foolish not to prepare for a worse-case scenario for our upcoming trip in two weeks.
If the rumored jet fuel shortages do come true, and my family and I are stranded in Orlando when we're due to fly back to Boston on October 1st, we're trying to put together a contingency plan. My wife's parents have a house an hour north in Leesburg (although they'll be up north, so no one would be there), and if the worst came to pass (no flights out, and no gas available to drive), we could stay there as long as need be. The question is, is there a way to get there from the Orlando airport via bus or train? I shudder to think how much a taxi would be.....
Thanks in advance for your responses...I sincerely hope that this is totally unnecessary, and our hopes and thoughts go to those who have already have had their lives shattered by events of the last week.
