Can someone help understand what happens Sept 14th

Yes. The Halloween decorations will be up and this will be first day of the Halloween holiday season.

FYI, I was at DLR on the opening day of Halloween decor last year and it was a bit crazy near HMH, as a dozen (or so?) radio stations had booths set up right there to broadcast live. Plus the FP line and regular lines were so backed up we were right up against some of the booths. Still, it was exciting to be there on the first official day!

SMGG was initially down multiple times during that first day on Friday, the opening day and I couldn't get FP initially. At one point I think I had run back and forth to check on it 2 or 3 times before I finally got on Friday. The agony of it was that I had 3 FP as DH and DD5 weren't going to ride on it and I didn't get to use all of them because of the breakdowns that day. Still, it was AWESOME to ride SMGG twice in a row on Magic Morning because there weren't any people in line after me.

Have fun!

Ugh! Going Sept 14 and 15...hoping the parks won't be a total zoo. Not getting park hoppers so not sure which park to do which day. Still waiting on entertainment schedule.

Total zoo? That's in San Diego.

It's not bad, just like any other Friday and Saturday. The only exception is many more people going to HM and SM than regular to ride them with thier overlays.

To echo skiingfast, it wasn't bad AT ALL. The rest of the park (including SMGG) was easy to walk through, especially as I was pushing a wide double stroller and DH was trailing me in an ECV (we never tried to walk/roll side-by-side as the DLR paths aren't that wide!). I mentioned this because it was comparatively crazy in front of HMH, largely because of the radio station booths. People were shoulder-to-shoulder trying to walk through as the lines to get on the ride (FP and walk-on) were in the general path for folks just walking by. I would NOT worry at all about a September visit.
