OK designers....I'm begging for help :)
I'm currently planning our next trip to WDW. My kids think we're staying at Pop Century, just like we always do. They don't know we've upgraded to AKL.:banana: I really want to plan a few surprises and make this trip great. I'm kind of at a loss as far as ideas go. I thought it would be cute to have a small candy/ treat at bedtime each night for them, kind of like our own turn down service. Can someone please make a candy bar wrapper (regular size Hershey or miniature) with a AKL design? Does anyone have any other ideas of things to make?

Are you looking at things to do while your already there? or upon arrival?
memories by betsy is good. I would say create a jungle themed basket for the arrival. She delivers to the hotel before check in. you could also have little gift tags with gifts placed in the beds when you return from the parks with a small gift you have "stashed" away and left in the room when you leave for the parks. (kindalike a gift from characters saying how well they behaved) or letters for the dining reservations. (alot of people do that) I collected disney dollars and left them under there pillows so when they woke up it was like tink stopped by and left some pixie dust for the next adventure.

Here are a few bag -Toppers I made for you,, print cut -fold -staple on the top of a baggie or small treat size bag.

I am wanting to have something planned for them when we get there and also maybe a little something everyday/night. I love your idea of the jungle themed gift basket. I'm definately going to check into that. Thank you for all the help and great ideas.

I just wanted to say I LOVE  all the things everyone has made. I can't wait to make them all. Thank you all VERY MUCH for everything!!! I wonder if a pin would fit inside the candy pocket. Has anyone ever done this?

One last one that got lost in upload

I have an idea but I'm not sure how go about making it. I saw a candy bar cake on the Disney Florist website and I LOVE it!!! The problem is the price......its 58.00 plus 9.00 for delivery. :scared1: That seems awfully high. I would really like to try to make something like this. My idea is to make candy bar wrappers in all different animal prints....like a tiger one, a zebra, a leopard, ect. I thought I could also use miniature candy bars instead of regular size ones and make a mini cake instead. I just need to figure out how to form them in a circle. What does everyone think of this? Has anyone made anything like this? I figure I can have the candy bar wrappers made ahead of time but I will have to assemble it when we get there. Any ideas of how to make this work is greatly appreciated. :)

I made two candy bar wrappers for you. You can find them in my 4shared file in the link in my signature. Then look in the "candy wrapper" file and the "candy bar wrapper" subfile. These are made for regular milk chocolate hershey bars and should measure 5.25x5.5 inches. The best paper is glossy brochure paper but regular or cardstock paper work as well.

To wrap candy bars in animal print...the easiest way would be go to a hobby store and buy animal print scrapbook paper. Then cut them into 5.25 x 5.5 inch squares and wrap around regular milk chocolat hershey bar wrappers and use double sided tape to secure.

You also mentioned you wanted something for them to do so I am making a photo scavenger hunt for AKL and will put it in the travel games in my 4shared file in the next couple of days.

Hi Hon
I have made a similar cake -(baby shower cake) with diapers around the base.

Anyhow --all it is is a tube of strong cardboard made into a cylinder--then you attach the chocolate bars with two way tape and to further secure it you tie a bow around the cake. You fill the middle with bits of decorated paper--stuff baskets have in the bottom of them. You can also fill with small bags of pretzels-doritos etc. Dolly has some beautiful tags in her for share file --maybe she could make you a specific tag for this.
NOTE (Fill middle before attaching chocolate bars.)
Anyhow it sounds like a terrific idea!
Love to see a picture when your finished.

Off to work

Dolly,
Thank you so much for the beautiful candy bar wrappers. You are extremely talented.
I love the idea of using scrapbook paper to the make animal labels. I wouldn't have ever thought of that. I was actually going to try to print them. Talk about alot of ink. :rotfl:
I am so excited to see the scavenger hunt. That will be a great idea to get the kids out of the room so I can assemble my candy bar cake. I am so excited. This is going to be great!!

You should check out this thread to get ideas for decorating the room! If you end up buying the animal print paper...you could make a welcome banner with it by cutting it into inidividual banners and putting a single letter on each that says "welcome" or something fun!

Oh my goodness, that is such a cute idea. :worship:
