Can someone help me understand codes?

Hi,
I'm fairly new to the boards and can't seem to stop browsing on them! I keep reading over the sticky boards about codes, as we are also planned to go in June-- June 28. I am using a local TA and we are staying at the Poly. I know we need to pay our deposit or the full package by May 10. Are there expected to be discounts? Are these something that anyone can use, or just Disney members? Help! I am very confused!

Usually the codes are for members of a group (ie AAA) or a code that is for anyone maybe found in your newspaper travel section. They get you a small discount. I would go to the code board and see if you are eligible for any of them. Have a great time with or without a code.
